Update

Should have mentioned at the start, when in the recovery room I was well cold and really shaking, nurses got me a pre warmed blanket pretty quick.  I was still cold though and they got me another, must be a common occurence as the blankets are pre warmed.  So fella remember if your cold get the blankets.

Stayed in bed most of last night and didnt sleep well at all.  Watched 18 episodes of Joey which I ummm downloaded ;) That show is well funny.  Anyway woke up this morning in a bit of pain, had to take some paracetomol, got up and the pain was gone.  Any post op guys think its more sore when you have been lying down for a while than it is when your a bit more mobile ?

No pain since this morning but talk about being itchy  >:( Had a walk to the local shops and it was a bit of a chore, think its gonna be a few more days before i can get any decent form of exercise in.

Im babbling a bit, but just want to let pre op guys get a rough idea of what to expect in as much detail as possible, hope you dont mind.

I find when I've been lying down and then sit up, I get a hot sensation all over my chest, as if blood is rushing into the area. Not sore, just feels as if its about to hurt but never does.

You must be feeling okay if you can contemplate some form of excercise in a few days. I'm thinking weeks at the moment!

By exercise i just mean a decent length walk, not weights or anything like that.

4 days post op

Man the itching under the bandages almost drove me insane yesterday, I really cannot wait to take them off. Well its a weird thing cos im kinda nervous about taking them off incase i have fluid build up or something but if i dont take them off ill end up scratching through to my ribcage.

Noticed 2 big lumps under my armpits, im sure its just the bandages pushing the swelling up as they are just above the bandages.  Im not worried about it as im sure they will go down once the bandages come off. One of them actually looks like a mini t!t  :D

When i wake up in the mornings i feel a bit sore, nothing major, hardly even minor pain but you know its there.  I get up stand for a few minutes then its gone. Other than first thing getting up there is really no pain at all now.

Going to try going for a walk today for a couple of miles see how i get on.

RRB,

Glad you come out the other side feeling as great as I do.  I think it is good that we have had a discussion about the pain and excately what a newbie would have to put them selve through to rid gyne.  Nothing prepares you better then knowledge eh.

The only thing I say concerns me are the bumps under the arms and the slight twinges but I know all this is sorted in time so no major worry.

I had a fab time out this weekend showing off my new chest in a tight tee.

Thanks

Yea i think its very important to explain the surgeries, without other guys diaries on this site im not sure i would have went for the op to be honest.  I just hope my ramblings help future gyne sufferers make an informed decision if surgery is the way forward for them and let them know in detail what to expect.

RRB your experiences are invaluable mate...I really am closely reading all the Levick diairies at the moment...

How much movement /mobility do you have at the 4 days stage?  Would you be able to go to work now?

Movement isnt too bad, just moving about slowly though incase any damage is done. Its easy to walk about and do stuff, i find the bandages more of a hinderance than anything else.  I went for a drive today and it wasnt too bad.

Work would be fine if it was a non manual job i.e. office job of sorts.  Wouldnt like to be a brickie or something though and try working

Day 5

Feeling a lot more energetic today, been down the town for a walk and felt alright.

Bandages are still causing major itching and its only just bearable. They are due to come off tomorrow though and i cant wait.  Got the Steret pre-injection swabs from Asda today, they seem very good at taking of surgical plaster residue off.  I couldnt find the Zoff wipes uk_bloke mentioned on another thread but these Steret swabs seem to be doing the trick.

The lumps near my armpits seem to have gone down a fair bit over the last day or 2 which is good.  Overall im feeling prety good.
