I don't understand what could of happened to the areolas? There no way the could of grown like that unless you have a sserious hormonal imbalance. WHat medications are you taken or have you took. DId you have an infection following surgery?
The reason I say bullshit is that is something never seen or heard about happening before out of hundreds of thousands of gynecomastia procedures done each year.

All surgeries have that slight 'risk' of something going wrong do they not? This looks to me to be one of those proceedures that 'went' wrong for some reason.

I don't recall how many cc's were taken out. I think I rember him saying 500ccs?  Only medication I was on beside the meds the PS gave me was wellbutrin, but he knew I was taking that and did not tell me to stop. I did not realize how bad it was until I went back and looked at my before pics. I have no idea what to do.

If you feel that you have been wronged, seek legal advice my friend. Malpractice a posibility... Who knows for sure. Maybe there is a reason why your Op turned out this way. You'll never know unless there is an investigation.

John.

gynegirlsaregone, I apologize for jumping to conclusions so quickly. People come on here quite frequently and post bs to scare people. I though you were doing that. Sorry.

I searched and found out that the medicine you take (wellbutrin) actually causes male breast enlargement. Gynecomastia is a side effect from taking the wellbutrin.

Heres a link:

http://plasticsurgery4u.com/procedure_folder/male_breast/gynecomastia_causes.html

My question is, did you tell your Doctor you take
Wellbutrin before you had the surgery?? If so, did he  tell you it would case it to grow back??
You were not butchered. You were not informed.

Im not sure if it is the plastic surgeons responsibilty or not to of told you the surgery would be pointless if you take the medication Wellbutrin. I know all plastic surgeons just do is the surgery. You may want to contact a laywer for some legal advise on that subject.

Yes I told my PS what medication I was taking from day1 I told the athentheolgist (spelling) as well. Everyone knew I was on it and no one ever said anything about it. Even if it does cause it the areoles are clearly a hack job. I will get a 2nd opinion and report back to you guys.

The Wellbutrin causes them to grow back, if they are removed. Or if you already have them, will cause them to grow larger. Thats could be why you areolas grew so large. After surgery, the nipple, areola area was damaged. At the same time your body was repairing the site, you were also taking a Medicine that causes growth there. That explains why tings got so screwed up.

You need to contact a lawyer about this issue and explain to him the story. Tell him you informed the plastic surgeon you take "Wellbutrin" on a regular basis.
Tell the lawyer the plastic surgeon did not tell you that taking Wellbutrin would cause the gynecomastia to come back soon after surgery. (the surgeon basicaly took them out for nothing)

I don't know if it is the plastic surgeons responsibility or not to of told you this. It may of been the Doctors responsibility who prescribes the wellbutrin to you, to of told you the side effects of taking it. You need to find this out. Whos responsibility was it. If it was the plastic surgeons responsibility by law, you have ONE HELL OF A CASE against him!  If it was yours responsibility, you are out the money.

My developed this way. I was prescribed a asthma steroid when I was younger and it caused them to grow.
I had surgery already but im calling the insurance company this week to state my claim.
