How do you post your pictures?

Can someone please walk me through the steps in posting my pictures here? I'd like to get professional and other people's opinions?
I understand that I can insert a link to where my pictures are posted but what if I want to post it directly from my hard drive?

Go to www.imageshack.us upload a photo from your hard drive, and then copy & paste the link you are given on the forum.

You might have to type for us to see a image directly without having to click any links ...
