seems like your skin immediately reshaped. did you have any stretch marks on your chest before surgery?

Hi Patsfan, yes my skin luckily reshaped immediately - I have posted some photos today on my site (GynecomastiaUK.org) to show some of the creases on my chest when I 'tense' and my current swollen nipples which is at 6 weeks post op - I am massaging daily to reduce this but if anyone has any advise on recovery at this stage and any tips I would be grateful to hear from you.

Thanks
Stuart.

Hi mate, hope all is going well!

Just a question about scar tissue... when should this start to appear? I have very hard areas all over my chest at the moment which is pushing the whole chest out making it take its former surgery appearence again. I am only 11 days post op and I think the scar tissue can through after about 8 days... is that normal? When do you think I should start massaging?

Hello mate, yep all going well but have the 'swollen nipple blues' taking advise I have read and being patient!
Hope your surgery went well! Scar tissue...so I had really hard 'lumps' of what felt like scar tissue next to both armpits after a few days then the hard 'lines' of scar tissue appeared on my chest after another week.
I could barely touch my chest for two weeks and started to massage gently at 2 weeks getting firmer as the tenderness eased. Even now after 6 weeks I am massaging what feels like scar tissue and the chest is still tender at times. A shirt didn't feel comfortable against my skin for 5 weeks, weird feeling really. Hope that helps...again if anyone has any tips for reducing nipple swelling at 6 weeks post op I would appreciate it.

Good luck with your recovery bain, hope the compression vest isn't getting you down, hang in there!

Cheers
Stuart.

Also read lots and see that the nipples go through this stage so sounds normal but any comments on this would really be appreciated.

What's happening Stuart? Still got the puff the magic nipples huh?lol
Bro everyone gets 'em. Maybe a small percentage doesn't. If it was flat before "and I know yours were from your site" its scar tissue. After six months you can ask your PS for kenalog injections to reduce the scar and bring the contour back to normal.

Even if it doesn't go away all the way, the goal is to reduce it as much as your body will allow. I wouldn't sweat it too much cause after six months it could go down.

Im in the same boat right now. Just trying to weather the scar storm.

Hi mate...my web-site is built on HTML5, all that means is if your work is using an old version of internet explorer then you might have issues.

Cheers
Stuart.

Hi mate, thanks for your post, every now and then you just need someone to tell you its ok! How long ago did you have your op and how are you getting on? Good to hear from somebody in the same boat, hope your recovery is going well.

Cheers

Im six weeks yesterday. I can't help but be impatient. It feels like it's been three months but it's only been a month and a half. I still have some swelling on the left side. It fluctuates when I lift weights or jog. My left was the bigger side and had more work done.

I can feel more scar tissue forming in the last two weeks. Nips are poking out a bit. For me, that's ok cause of what I was dealing with. They do say compression helps minimize scar tissue.

6 weeks, cool...a couple of weeks behind me. It is an impatient business isn't it! I have only just started lifting weights a week back and that seems to be helping. You say compression helps so are you still using the compression garment at 6 weeks?

Cheers

Depends on how the swelling looks. If I lift weights and swell up a little I'll sleep with it on so in the morning its at its smallest again.

I wore compression for six weeks. I started cutting back on it around five weeks. It def helps when jogging. I jog a lot and the chest gets thrown all about so I wear it when exercising.

cool I might try a bit of compression, I am at 9 weeks now and the nipples are still going through some swelling, everything else has settled just fine.

If anybody else has some other tips on this I would love to hear them (reducing nipple swelling post op that is)

Cheers Stuart,

nipple swelling is calming down, my right side looks better than my left - I will put some photos up in a couple of weeks when I am 3 months post op.

Cheers,
Stuart.

Hey,
A quick note to let you know that I've been following your progress as I'm about 4-5 weeks behind you. I'm now 6 weeks post-op and I have great scars yet there is some scar tissue that built up behind my nipple (about the size of the original gland) and puffyness equivalent to what it was pre-op. Similar to you.
I started massaging the scar tissue a week ago yet it seems to accentuate the puffyness yet soften the scar tissue...
Are you massaging at all? How are things looking today?

Cheers ;)
