I prefer underwire seamless bras.  I don't find the underwire to be tight or uncomfortable to wear.  Also the seamless cups don't shape my breasts so that it is even less apparent that I'm wearing a bra.

It does seem that a properly designed and properly fitted underwire should be significantly better than a non-underwire.  But that is my engineering side looking at it...

Any brands better/worse than others?

I have been wearing a bra for just over two years.  I use both a regular or a sport bra daily.  My preference is unlined cup with an underwire.  A medium-impact sports bra works well for me, but can get uncomfortable and hot if worn all day.

My preference for underwire bras for fit and support are Warner's and JCPenny.  I also recently purchased a Playtex bra that fits rather well.  I also prefer bras that provide some side support for additional comfort.

I've look at those, just never seen a 40B there.  Do they make anything in the danskin now brand in 40B?

I just started driving again daily and wearing a sport bra now full time I haven't had any pain at all.  Before I had to hold them up manually while driving after about 45 min.  I tried some compression shirts, but they never did much.

realy! now just get surgery? , to some of us thats not an option. due to insurance companies some do not cover "cosmetic" surgery . so a bra is a stop gap measure and sometimes the only answer. to those who say just get surgery don`t judge a man till you have walked in his shoes!!!
my endo doc.suggested a sports bra and i have worn one since as my insurance would not cover it and mine is not all that bad im only an A cup but it has stopped the pain so thats that.

prabil,

Lighten up. Not everyone is a good candidate for surgery. I could easily come up with a list of medical conditions that might be cause for a surgeon to decline surgery which is so much more cosmetic that physical necessity.

The other issue is a matter of size. Of the many men who frequent this site, only a relatively small number would actually fill a bra.

Unless you could fill a bra yourself, you have no basis for comment in this particular thread.

I have a Tekgear athletic, and a Champion Double Dry...

I got fitted for an Enell Lite bra, and it is excellent!  The specialist also fitted me for their male support vest and the main Enell Sport bra, neither of which I liked as much as the Lite.
  • The male support vest is like a Champion Double Dry Action Tech, and I have a Champion which I wear to bed sometimes. No cups, uniboob, so it flattens.
  • The Enell Sport is a uniboob squish down bra so not to my liking.  Definite support, though.
  • The Lite  keeps me in place, not much jiggling.  The Lite has cups and separates nicely, so that I still have a shape.   :D
The Enell Sport and Lite have side support better than any bra I have tried.  My wife liked them so well, she ordered two Enell Sport for herself!

I wear size 6 in Enell Lite; my regular bra is 44C plus or minus depending on bra.

At times I have worn an Anita bra, which is fairly expensive.  I recently went for a fitting and was introduced to a Wacoal bra style # 65149 with an underwire. The cups are not formed, so it forms to me yet is it quite stealth like under a shirt.  It is the most comfortable and best fitting one I have worn.  I am not that large at a 38B though.

I recently went for a fitting and was introduced to a Wacoal bra

I recently sent emails to a few local lingerie stores, so that I could get a fitting and measured by an expert.  I explained my situation, gynecomastia etc.  One of the ladies who replied was very understanding and suggested I come in for a fitting some evening.

I normally wear a 44C but my Enell Lite is for much larger bra sizes (46DD, 46DDD, 48D, 48DD).  I was on an online chat with a bra fitter in NYC a while back and with my measurements, she wanted me in a huge J cup bra.  When I told her, no way could I fill a J cup, she said, half jokingly, that I had a case of BSD -- bra size denial.  Funny.

So... I am looking forward to getting a fitting.  It will help a lot.

My wife has BSD....  I can't convince her to get a fitting at all.  She is always complaining of back pain, but yet, sticks with the wrong size.

Usually a Cacique bra works for me, but as long as it's comfortable and supports my heavy 'ladies' I don't really care what bra I wear (or what it looks like for that matter)

I've tried about a half-dozen different bras and I swear by this one:

Just My Size Magic Ring Support Wirefree Bra
Everyone has a different fit, but this is by far the most comfortable one I've worn, and it's available in 42B. You can find one at Walmart.
I know the lace might be a little weird and it takes some getting used to, but it's hard to notice it under a shirt.
