Hello Guys:

It's 3.40AM. And I am writing.

Well, as planned left home at 7.10AM to reach at st. Joe arround 8am. But QEW/Gardiner Traffic. Reach there at 8:30am. Register my self in and change the cloths. Nurse ask me to wait in waiting room for my schedule appointment at 10:30. And that's the worse part begin. Doing nothing just wait. Why they call us 2 1/2 hr. in advance?

Well, finnaly Dr. Fielding arrived at 11am. He was behind schedule. He personnaly came to take me to operation room. Surprise. My wife met him first time. ANd he assured my wife not to worry (what she was) and ask me to give her a kiss and come with him. I follow the master.

Went into OT. Nurse asked me same question everyone is asking. (I guess procedure). I was so nervous and cold. She immidiately felt that and gave me 2 warm blanket. I felt good. Then another doctor came (anesthe) who introduce me himself and explain brifly what his role is in the procedure.

5 min after Dr. Fielding came with camera. Took my pictures, draw lines on mt chest. And ask me to lay down. And I got a sense that now is the time.

Doctor told me that he is going to sleep me for a while. I prayed my god for my surgery and that's it. Total knock Out !!! That was arround 11:30AM that's what I remember seeing in the clock in OT.

I woke up arround 1pm in recovery room. I was still sleeping. Nurse put the belt on my chest and move me to another room where I saw my wife. I was 90% in sleep till then.

Had some water and apple juice but not even able to suck through straw. I gave up.

Arround 3, I was 60% sleep. And tried again water and juice. Was successful this time. Had 2 cookie.

Pain was very nominal. I thought he didn't do anything. Specially left side, he forgot to do the operation. Till now, I don't feel any pain on left side. But right side, no pain just the etching. Uncomfortable with tight belt. I still can't move my hands freely. I know it's too early.

After surgery, didn't get a chance to see Dr. Fielding. We were out of hospital at arround 5pm. Came home at 6pm and goto sleep again. Had some food at arround 9 and went to sleep again. Now my back hurts so wake up and watching movie and writing you guys at 4am.

I have to see doctor next week. So will call him today.

Aslo, I had some drain on my right side. Some blood. I think it's normal. Isn't it?

Also few question for my friends:

1. When I remove the belt and form pad under the belt?
2. About Hemotema (that's the word I believe), when you see that? Is it after 2 days of surgery or after removal of belt? If after 2 days of surgery, how I am going to feel that as my chest is under belt?
3. My chest is becoming little heavy? Is it normal?

Hope to get a response. And thank you all for youe support. I will keep you guys posted.

Regards.

hey buddy good to hear everything went well...

so you left the hospital on the day of the surgery huh ? do you live in TO ?

blood and other liquids are totally normal because Fielding puts a lot of fluid in there for lipo.

you had an actual drain put in ? i guess it helps, especially if you'll see Fielding in a few days, he'll remove them himself.

anyways, about your questions :

1. you need to keep the tensor wrap for 3 weeks and the foam pads for 1 weeks.
after 2 weeks you can cut the extra tread on your sutures.

2. Hematomas are most common in the first 2 days but can appear generally up to 10 days after surgery.i took me about a week and a half to notice i had hematomas. but they werent that big, not hurting and not bruised. so Lesly told me to leave them as is unless they got bigger. today, i still have a few hematomas but they are reducing (very slowly though)

you will no that you have a hematoma that needs to be treated generally if one side hurts a lot more than the other (i mean one side is always a little more sensitive but we are talking pain). it should also be a lot bigger. so even under the pads, you should be able to have one. i was scared that i wouldn't recognise one but it gets REALLY hard and when you have one, you know its a hematoma without a doubt. if you have something but you are not sure, call Lesly.

as for the heavyness well i think it is. i took the train after surgery and it seemed like my chest ( i dont call them breast anymore ;)) were moving all around. i had to hold them (i must have looked so weird holding my chest like that, now that i think about it) but whatever. i was happy.

Thx brebguy for update.

Yes, it is 24 hr. now. And tell you the truth my left side is just like he forgot todo any operation there. No pain, nothing at all. Feel like nothing done there. But right side, little pain. It's not that pain but I would say feel like pin near my nipple. Tensor is so tight, I can't move freely. But it's lot better then yesterday.

I booked my follow up appointment for next Tuesday. I think I will remove the form pad in fromt of him. As the paper says I have to wait 5-6 days before I ermove the form pad. Should I wait for him to remove or Should I do it by my self. I am really scare to remove those stuff.

i had the exact same feeling on the left side. didnt feel anything. today its the opposite, i feel the left one more than the right one... (the nipples are just more sensitive to friction than they would normally be)

ya i was scared to remove the pads too but i had no choice (plus i was eager to see the result). if you dont have chest hair (which is my case) it wont hurt a bit (because the pads are glued to the skin. it actually felt pretty good, it felt like i was scratching a really itchy surface.

if you do have chest hair i dont know. they tell you to pull it quick but i dont like the idea.

i explain why :

the foam pads is glued to the skin but over the nipple, they put some gauze so that the foam is not glued directly to the suture stitchs.

in my case the left side did have the gauze so when i removed the left pad i pulled on the stitches and it started bleeding a bit. so thank god i didnot pull too fast... i thought my nipple was coming off... but no...

so i called Lesly and she told me to soak it with warm water so it would unstick by itself (which it did).

so if you have no hair i say you can remove it yourself. if not... i dont know...i think i would wait for fielding.

Hey man,

Congrats!  Yeah, wait for Fielding to take off the foam pads.  It's not a huge deal, I did it myself after 6 days, but I heard a story where one guy (maybe it was Brebguy?) had the bandages over one nipple slide off, so pulling the sticky pad off damn near pulled off his nipple!

I've seen hematoma photos and I think it would be really obvious because it was a huge purple area (blood filled) that really frikkin hurts (according to them) - usually limited to one side.

I also had some blood drain from one side and that is normal.

My story sounded  the same as yours - the most painful part is the long wait.  It sounds like you were 2nd in line that day, so sometimes there is a delay.  I was 3rd in line so there was a delay for me too, but I didn't have to arrive until 11:30pm and got in about 2:30pm for surgery.

Keep the belt tight and relax my friend!

Hi Supaaman:

You are right. Worst is to wait. Don't understand why they call us 3 hrs. in advance where there is nothing to do till last hour.

Yes, I will wait for Dr. to remove the form pad on Tuesday. Better be safe than sorry.

How's your recovery is progressing? Any problem? Hope not.

BTW, congrats to GmL for your operation. I'll meet Dr Fielding in mid october...

G-Man:

Pad are not that thick. It's a normal compression vest doctor use. But underneeth, I would say 1/4 inch form pad on both nipple. So it's not that thick. But really uncomfortable to move your arms freely as it's really tight.

I am going for my 1 week post op consultation when I will remove the form pads and just the wearing a compression vest. I also have purchased the compression T's from sportcheck which I will show it to my doctor. Hopefully wearing that will hide the compression vest while going to work.

Good luck for your meeting.
