how long can i take off the compression vest... i take it out 1 hour in nthe morning and 1 hour in the evenin... sometimes i take it off at work for some time.. im 18 days postop..is thi sok?

I don't know...that sounds like a while....doesn't it hurt?  Maybe your case wasn't that bad.

My chest feels numb like I'm walking on a foot that's asleep if I have it off too long.  I'm 3 1/2 weeks.

wow. I'm 2 weeks post op and take mine off for 2-3 hours at a time...in fact...i just wear a compression tshirt now.

I think after the first week its ok to take breaks.

So for the whole first week you don't take the compression vest off at all?  You leave it on 24/7?  How do you take showers then?

Don't you get all sweaty and smelly underneath the vest?

I take it off for 10 minutes or so to take a shower.  That's not very long.

These are questions better directed to your own doctor.  I prefer to individualize the compression therapy for each of my patients and now prefer both:

First Stage Compression Vest

and

Second Stage Compression Vest
