Hello everyone!

I read most of the forum topics and I'am a bit confused about this gyne - pseudo gyne issue.
Correct me if I'm wrong but if you have gyne that means you have puffy nipples?

I have quite large breasts but unlike many people here i dont feel those hard glands under my nipples, neither have I puffy nipples.
What mine feels is exactly what I have on my belly which i assume is just fat, so it can be burnt with exercise.

Please enlighten me!

Gynecomastia = shape of a woman's breast. Even though it's just fat (although, gland can be a stringy, soft-like tissue aswell), you still have the shapes of a woman's breast. If it's just fat, it's called psuedo-gynecomastia.

Different types of gynocomastia. Some have it from fat, some from gland, some from combo of both.

Either prob can tell. I had my endo check out my chest as well as surgeons. They all had similiar findings. You can tell if you have a gland problem. Pinch your nipple area. If you feel a HARD LUMP behind/below the areola - you have a gland issue.

Check out Dr. Bermant's site for more info on self testing

I see.  There's nothing right behind my nipple, when i squeeze I only feel skin. The lumps start way behind the nipple an they feel like fat anywhere on my body so i guess they are ???. Anyway I will work out and eat right for a couple of months and if no change I'll see a doc.

Thanks man!

ok if you had a gland issue you would def be able to feel it. You may have only a fat issue. However, sometimes gland and fat blend together behind the nipple/areola. Trim up a bit and then re-evaluate. Good luck

Gynecomastia = shape of a woman's breast.

Right on dude...

Gynecomastia:  Gyne (woman-like) / Mastos (breasts)

So, if you have 'woman-like breasts' then you have Gynecomastia. From puffy areolas to a full-figured breast, they all can be considered 'woman-like'. No matter what the severity, it's all considered Gynecomastia.

I have been told by one of the resident docs, that all males have mammary gland. Therefore, there is no such thing as Pseudo-Gynecomastia.

Why all the fuss about "Is it gland" or "Is it fat"?  Guys... It doesn't matter how much of one, or how much of the other. If you have 'Woman-Like Breasts', no amount of exercise will get rid of them completely. Surgical removal is the only option.

Not quite though. My manboobs do not look at all like a woman's breast, although they are very big and with puffy nipples. They just look like pointy lumps or ice cream cones sticking out. And yes, i have been diagnosed with gynecomastia

GB said it well.

In the issue of whether it is fat or gland, I would ask: Is the treatment different from our standpoint? Is the effect upon your self image different? Is it always one or the other? Can a clear distinction always be made by a pre-operative examination?

The answer in every case is NO. Usually there is both.

If you really want to know the relative amounts of fat vs glandular tissue ask the surgeon after the procedure is done. Then he will know for sure.

Thanks for the explanation fellas!

I think I'm gonna see a PS soon to have his opinion on my case but I dont consider surgery for at least 6 months.
I'm going to take working out and diet seriously. I'm not hoping for magic to happen but I might get to a level where I wont need surgery (I'm still pretty sure I dont have the increased glands, only fat). And if I was wrong, the workout only gonna help the doc to see what to doo.

Jack...   'Woman-like' is the key phrase here. Not quite the same, but something similar to...  ;)

Grandpa and Paa-Paw are 100% correct.

It really doesn't matter what the gland to fat ratio is. The bottom line is it will require an experienced gyno surgeon to correct it. Even the surgeon won't know how much is fat and gland until its all over.

You can seek the opinions of 10 physicians, and you will get 10 different answers. Its all a guess.

It never hurts to get in shape before surgery, but I personaly have yet to witness anyone get rid of gyne with diet and exercise.
