hi everyone. i live in mumbai. i had gyne from somewhere around 8 years now. i spent my childhood hiding everywhere. i am not basically a shy person. even my friends wonder why i behave different in front of girls, at social events and different in front of them. otherwise i am hero of my friend circle. after doing all exercises and  dieting i realised that it wont go away like this. then i decided to talk to my father. there was a conflict between me and my father when we first talk about it. he said he also had it when he was teenager. and it went away on its own. but now i am 22 years old and still suffering through gyne.Today i visited a doc with my father. he is not a endo but he is MS and he said he can perform that surgery if needed. he has advised me to undergo some tests like TSH(T3 T4), FSH, LH and testosterone And after having look at the results of these tests , he will decide whats to be done. i trust him. what u say?

First of all, congrats for deciding on having the surgery done! Now, the tests are fine, because, with those your doc will check that your hormone levels are OK, and if you have the surgery, gyne won't come back. Otherwise, if you have some kind of hormonal disbalance, you'll have to get that right before considering surgery. About the doc... the ideal thing is for you to get a qualified, board certified Plastic Surgeon, but if you really trust this MS and he's experienced in gyne surgery you can have it done by him. Ask him about the procedure, and ask him to show you some before and after pictures. Also, if possible, ask him to put you in contact with a former patient of his, whose case was similar than yours, so you can get some reference about this MS work.

Good luck!

thanks JO3L, that really helped a lot. thanks a ton. my doc says there are no glands. it only has fat and adipose tissues. he says he will give me injections of testosterone if its low. then he will decide whether to go for surgery or not? he is not endo but he is a civil surgeon and is experienced enough to carry out such surgery. what u said in ur reply is correct but how can i ask a doctor about his experience.

You, as a pacient are in all the rights to ask a doctor about his experience. Now, you can tweak a little the way to ask him about stuff, for example, you can ask him to show you some before and after pictures of similar cases to have an idea on what to expect after surgery, or to put you in contact with a former patient to ask him some details about post-op stuff.

There's no reason for your doc to NOT show you the pics or put you in contact with a former patient, unless he's got something to hide.[/i]

Don't worry, you're not doing anything wrong about asking him about his experience, if he shows some kind of resistance on doing what you ask, you should consider changing your doc. Remember, you have to trust and feel confortable with ur doc.

hey JO3L, i asked my doc about his experience in such surgeries.and i also ask him that whether it is necessary to get done this kind of surgery from PS. he really replied well. he said"if you want it to be done by
PS then i can refer you  to a PS "  he said this is not a special surgery which could only be done by PS.
and for his experience => he has performed over 800 such operations  at  city hospital.

Can you tell the name of the doctor and where can he be contacted? It will be helpful to others also who are planning for the surgery in Mumbai.

Good then! You just need to be sure about this Doc and his experience, it is true that this surgery doesn't necesarily has to be performed by a PS, but if you trust this doc and makes you feel confortable, then go for it!!

Good luck! :)

thaks for your replies guys. the doctors name is DR. Gawhale. i dont have any doubt about his experience.
he is a renowned surgeon of city. my moms gall bladder stones operation is also done by him. it was successful. he is appointed by government at the city hospital of ulhasnagar, thane district.PIN-421004.
my treatment is started now. he gave me one 250 mg testesterone injection. and he is saying
that in 50% of the cases effects can be seen in 3 weeks by injections only and i might not need surgery. and
also said that if i am worried a lot or feeling conscious then he can remove it.
most important thing is that he estimated price of the surgery to be around 25,000 to 30,000 INR.(if he performs it.) and 40,000 to 50,000 INR if performed by PS.
