If you have been on-line or watched TV at any time in the last couple of years you have been barraged with commercials touting a variety of Herbal remedies that claim to be Testosterone boosters or supplements.

Many of these are not effective but some might be and therein lies a problem.

According to the ads, you need their product to help you balance your hormones. The problem is that you cannot really do that without some serious Lab work and sufficient expertise to evaluate those Lab results. That is why we have highly trained Doctors called Endocrinologists.

A man's Testosterone level just naturally decreases as he gets older. This is not actually a problem. Actually keeping the Testosterone level too high can be a serious problem. Side effects of excessive Testosterone include increased incidence of Breast Growth and increased risk of Prostate Cancer.

Keep in mind that since these preparations are made of natural herbs and extracts they slip into the market with no oversight by government agencies that enforce standards for medicines. Just because a product is natural does not mean it is safe. Many plants that are the basis of Pharmaceuticals are toxic at some level.

Absolutely correct!

Worst thing to do is to try to boost your own hormones without supervision by a specialist physician.  Anything less and you are playing with fire.

I would also have to agree! Many people have the misconception that because it is "all natural" it will be OK to use! Well, I would like to also add that you could create problems mixing it with any other medications that you are also taking whether over the counter or prescribed! This is also why you need to share any all meds taken with both your doctor and pharmacist to be sure there will not be a problem.

This couldn't have been said any better. I am the poster child for taking these "natural" supplements along with actual testosterone to boost my already 'normal' levels...

Word to the wise - the consequences far out weight the rewards...
