Consultation with Karidis today and surgery booked for 4th July!

Hi guys

I had lipo to remove fat from my chest 9 years ago, however once the fat was removed I was left with 'baggy' nipples, whereby the areola have too much skin and are not taut enough, and also the actual nipples protrude way too much from my body.  

So I want to get nipple reduction surgery done, but don't want to pay for full on lipo again as I don't need it.

Does anyone please have any recommendations for the best people in London to speak to about this type of thing?  I would be eternally grateful as I want to get this sorted asap.

I've attached some photos here.  The 'baggy' situation occurs when I bring my arms closer together as you can see in one of the photos.  Not a good look!

Maybe my lipo all those years ago just wasn't done very well.  I think rather than just do lipo, he also should have removed some or pretty much all of the gland from underneath the nipples, plus then tightened the areola skin, to get a better contour.  And of course I want nipple reduction too as they are way too large, but I guess that's a different procedure. 

Really stumped about who to go to talk to though, and also whether this is going to be a gynecomastia revision if you like, plus a nipple reduction.  Hmmm.

So I am going in to see Dr. Karidis w/c 10th June so we shall see what he says.

Looking at my pics, what do you guys think I need doing?  I keep trying to work it out in my head, but I guess my last procedure wasn't done correctly or by a male chest specialist, so I guess I will need to have corrective/revision surgery.  I'm sure someone like Karidis who knows what he's doing will say I need a little more lipo, glands removing, and... hopefully (!) nipple reduction!

i don't think you need nipple reduction. Possibly more gland removal (slightly) and aggressive lipo towards the bottom end of the chest. Lets see what Dr. Karidis thinks good luck

I think I was a little naive in my first post above.  Totally of the "well I've already had the chest area lipo'd once years ago so I don't need it doing again" mindset.  Now I am aware of and happy with the fact I will probably have to have it again, and not just have my nipples reduced like I initially thought.  Afterall, and I think everyone would agree, one may as well go the whole hog to get this sorted properly once and for all.  Lipo, glands and maybe nipples too.  I will be a new man!

I wish I had found a forum like this one 9 years ago - it would have been very helpful indeed.  I was rather naive and just went with some cosmetic surgeon who my friend did PR for (the agency she worked for did Health and Beauty PR).  I don't even remember the surgeon's name, and I guess he wasn't specialised in the male chest area.  So when I read posts in other threads about choosing the right surgeon I cannot agree with that enough.  I spent £3k + on this already, and now will spend another £4k +.

Karidis will explain it in the consultation, but nipple reduction is a bit of a rare thing it can be done but on past ops that ive seen they just shave the nipple off completely it may be something you want performed but id ask Karidis what result to realistically expect. Your aerola's will tighten up after the glands been took out this may effect the protrusion of the nip itself which would be a bonus.

You should get a reasonable to good reduction in your nipple size with just the glandular tissue being removed. There has been a lot of past log on here where people have been unhappy with the size/shape/protrusion of their nipple and the gyne surgery alone has had a big impact on the nipples appearance. Gyne surgery will shrink them.

I had surgery with karidis he'll tell you what's achievable and realistic and the best way to get that result.

Yeh like the others have said when the gland is removed the entire nipple area will look much better. He will need to do lipo to contour your chest properly i dont think he would even agree to just do gland removal because he wont be able to guarentee it will look any good. Glad to see your going with karidis by the way. Cant wait to check back and see what he says to you in the consultation.

Evening all

So I met with Alex Karidis this morning.  Really nice guy.  I don't think I was with him for more than about 15 or 20 mins.  He asked me to remove my shirt, he had a quick feel of the chest area, and then asked me to stand in front of a mirror and point out to him what I was unhappy with.  He said I don't have that much fat to remove (as I've already have lipo years ago) but that he could make me flatter by removing some more fat from under the armpit region, as well as on the chest, as well as removal of the gland... AND... he can trim down my nipples so they are of normal size and nice and flush - woohoo!  So he is confident he can give me my desired result.  I am consequently booked in for surgery on Thursday 4th July

He did also talk to me about having my upper and lower abs, plus my flanks, lipo'd to give me a more uniform look.  No matter how much weight I have shed in the past, or even after having done several months with a personal trainer last year, I still wasn't able to shift as much weight as I would have liked on my stomach area.  So I am now also thinking about having that done on the same day!!  Although it is about another £3.3k. 

So costs for my chest only are approx. £4.4k, and with abs/flanks too £7.7k.  I've paid £1k deposit to secure my surgery date in just 3 weeks (rather quick I thought - but I did bang on about needing it done asap as I have a holiday at the end of Aug), and I need to decide by early next week if I want to have both procedures done.  I think I will, so this is all sorted once and for all.  Yes I could probably starve myself to get super skinny in the stomach region but I honestly think I am just genetically prone to carry weight there.  Add to that the fact I am diabetic and one of the symptoms for males is to carry a bit more weight there.

So glad that this is all going to happen so quickly

One slightly embarrassing moment was when he asked me who did my last surgery years ago and I said "oh some greek guy at the Wellbeck hospital" and then he said his name... I hope they are not friends as I had basically been talking (politely of course) about how unhappy I was with his work!!

Wow all sounds good mate, I wish you the best with whatever choice you make. And it's your right to be unhappy with work that was done before that you feel wasn't what it could have been, doesn't matter if he is friends with the guy. Specially if you were still polite in saying you weren't happy with your results. Not like you starting ripping the guy apart lol.

Oh, I forgot to add that Nicola (absolutely lovely patient co-ordinator) said I could go back to work on the Monday, so 3-4 days post-op.  Seems rather soon, but to be honest, I'd rather have more days off for an actual holiday later in the year.  And I do a desk job, so...
