Does anyone know whether giving up alcohol may help the appearance of Gynecomastia?

Two common causes of Gynecomastia are: Impaired Liver function and reduced output of Testosterone.

Alcohol is toxic to both the Testes and the Liver.

The question is not whether or not you drink, but whether you drink to the point of intoxication and how often you drink.

A binge drinker who drinks only on week-ends may have a reduced Testosterone level for several days after a binge. The small amount of Estrogen which would normally be neutralized by the liver would also be elevated for some time following a binge.

So, if someone tells you that alcohol does not cause Gynecomastia, They are right, but only to the extent that they ignore the secondary effects.
