I had surgery 4 weks ago from this thursday 6/9.  One side formed hematoma and which had to be drained several times.  This side was badly bruised and swollen.  The other side was fine with very little bruising but I have what seems to be some puffiness on the outer side leading towards my armpit.

I asked the PS which said it could be skin but if it was anything else it would go away.

Should I be worried that it will not go away and he did more on one side or is this common?

thanks

Did you have lipo, excision, or both?

Also, could you please post pics so we can see what you're talking about?  Both of my sides underneath my armpits were bruised (one much more than the other) and pretty swollen.  I am now two weeks post-op and most of the visible bruising / swelling has diminished.

The right side had barely any bruising, and it didn't hurt much to touch it, but was significantly swollen.  Perhaps it's similar to what you're experience.

I was going for both however he only did glandular excision and also cut out some fat.  Lipo was not needed, I have a bodybuilder type body although not as huge.

I will try and post pics.

The right side which I am concerned about had only little bruising around the nipple itself and that was it.  It does not hurt either I pray that it is swollen.

Theleft side although swollen seems to be tighter where the problem is on the right side.

Dude....

You are just 4 weeks PO. Give your body more time to heal. One month is just not enough time for the body to recover from the trauma that it just went through.  ;)

Give it at least 12 weeks healing time before passing judgement. When my hard scar tissue formed at week 3 or so, I freaked! Many thanks to Hypo for his support and assuring me that the scar tissue will go away. Now I am 15 weeks PO and all is well.  :D

Relax and give your body a little more time to heal....  ;)

John.

The body forms tough tissue underneath the skin after surgery.  Some call it scar tissue, I call it induration.  Anyway, it's just healing tissue and can make the skin seem puffier.  My whole chest has hard tissue underneath it now, that I'm expecting to go away as the months pass.  This may be what you're experiencing.  If so, there's nothing to worry about.

Well it may be fluid that needs draining, or a number of other things.  See what happens to it in the next few weeks.
