Wondering if I should go to my family doctor to get my hormones tested, or if I should just go straight to an endo specialist? And what should I ask for when I see my doctor?

most docs won't do anything more than simple blood tests, he would just refer you to the endo, who would have the answers to the specific gyne-related questions.
* a man is more than a body will ever tell
* if it screws up your life the same, is there really any such thing as "mild" gyne?

Sometimes a referring Dr. will go ahead and order a set of tests at the same time they make the referral. The advantage to this is that the Endocrinologist will have those test results when they first see you and it may save an additional visit to the specialist.

Sometimes the referring Dr. will not order the tests in advance but wait and have the Endocrinologist order the tests at your first consultation.

Either way would be acceptable.
