  • puberty was a b*tch..
Well, for the first month I wore an ace bandage continuosly and I only removed it for shower etc.  I recently decided to take it off for a few days and nothing has changed over the past three weeks.  My nipples are still incredibly puffy.  You can still see the deep line underneath both where the incision was produced.  And both are still 100% numb.  Now if I put the ace bandage on tight, the puffyness goes down, but very temporarily.  Whenever I took it off to take a shower within 2-3 minutes they were puffed out like usual.  Im going back to my PS next tuesday.  I'll see what he has to say about the whole ordeal.. he just seems very pessimistic and not very reassuring about everything thats being going on post-op.  Although assuming this puffiness goes away I will be very happy with this surgery.  Did any of you have a similiar experience where the puffiness went down and then the numbess went away?  I'd really appreciate some feedback.  Thanks

We had alot of guys who were complaining about swelling, numbness, and puffyness even after 1 month post op.
Had surgery with Dr. J.C. Fielding on August 2nd.

So it's common then?  Did it go away after a few more months?  Or should I say, is it common for it to go away for most people with time?

just curious, but did you have lipo, gland excision, or both.

I hear that for puffy nipples, gland excision is more effective.

That was the problem I had.  And the gland surgery looks as if it has helped a lot.  But I'm just 1 week post op.  So I'm not going to judge until the healing process is closer to finish.

I believe it was both.  I would love it if someone would post that has had this problem and what ended up happening.

I was told by my surgeon that it can take up to six months for everything to finish healing. So give it at least another month before worrying too much.
Good Luck

If you don't know for sure, you should call the doctor and find out if it was just gland exision, just lipo, or both.

That way, you're more likely to find the information you're looking for on the boards here.

If it was both, I would expect that it will go away.  My nips are a bit puffy right now too, but the doctor said mainly due to swelling, and the scab that developed on my left nip.

Still, it's looking better than before, and I can see some slow but sure progress happening.

Is the tissue under your 'puffy' nipples hard?  If so, this is just rough healing tissue and it takes months to go away completely.  Perhaps the reason they appear puffy is just because of the shape that your skin has been stretched into.
