Anyone know the scientific/medical explanation for this phenomenon ?

Hi guys

Just wondering, many of us experience this - when its cold your nipples are erect and the chest looks perfect..but when its night-time or just general warm the nipples puff out and you look like you have proper man boobs..

Does anyone know the explanation for this ? Is it to do with the way the gland functions ? or is it to do with hormonal levels..etc ?

"Puffy Nipps" can be a problem behind the areola that can take many forms.  The deformity is usually a varying combination of fat and gland.  The gland can be firm or soft, spread through fat, or be a condensed mass.  There is a thin muscle under the areola skin that can flatten tissue when stimulated. Unfortunately it is impractical to keep stimulating these muscles.
