As my consultation looms on the 14th March with Alex Karidis, I would like to know who has already had their surgery with him and what your overall impression was of both the surgery experience itself and more importantly, the results.

I am looking forward to getting this over and done with now but would still like some reassurance that he is the right man for the job! (Which I am sure he is).

As I live just outside Liverpool, the trip has ended up costing me a fortune! My wife thought it would be a good idea to stay over for the weekend (since we don't get down to London very often) and so booked us into the Marriott hotel in Kensington for two nights!! Plus I am 'allowed' to escort her to the Ideal Home Exhibition at Earls Court on the 15th (whoopie!) and to a show on the night of the 14th. So all in all the damn consultation has cost me a bout £500 !!!!!!  :D Ah well, at least I won't have to buy her a birthday pressie as well the week after.  ;)

Any feedback would be great.

I'm now 11 weeks post op with Karidis. My overall impression in a nutshell is very good. The surgery & recovery I found to be a lot easier than I thought it would be. Seems to me his procedure is a lot less traumatic than other surgeons I have read about on here (or maybe I just got lucky!). It almost seems funny now when I think back on how much agonising I did over the decision to have the surgery.

The results are pretty good for me. Flat chest & no more puffy nips. Cant see the nipple scars at all, even under very close examination. Can wear whatever clothes I like. I will say though I don't consider it a perfect chest but its early days yet. I don't think anyone should go into this expecting perfection. It should however leave you much better than it found you...otherwise theres no point. My little gripes are a little bit of unbalance between the left & right sides, and the nipples can sometimes kind of go into a slight oblong shape under certain conditions. Karidis says these things will pass over time. However these problems are small, they wouldn't stop me taking my top off to go swimming or on holiday or whatever.

Overall I'm happy & I'm glad I picked him for the surgery.

Hi Toby, thanks for the reply. It's good to hear you were pleased with the overall experience with Karidis. As a matter of interest, and not wishing to sound rude, did you have much weight on you before the op? I am trying to shed as much fat as I can before the big day as I am told this helps to give better and more balanced results in the long term. I am nervous about the op but can't wait to get it over and done with now. Like you I just want to be able to wear what I like and not be self concious about removing my shirt on the beach or in the changing rooms at my gym. How long did it take for you to be able to resume normal exercise etc? This is one of my big worries as I do tend to gain weight quite easily!

No fat on me really. I was/am about 5' 6" and weigh about 10 stone. I guess this helped in getting a good result.

I was able to do press ups/sit ups after 4 weeks.

Oh OK mate that sounds good.  ;) I am a little heavier than yourself at 14 stone 5 at the mo, and at 5' 7" not that much taller than you!  :D However I have been into bodybuilding (the non steroid type!) for about 15 years now, so a fair amount of this weight is muscle. I reckon I have around 1.5 stone of fat to loose which sounds a lot, but I have already lost 12 lbs in just over a month so it is definately a realistic target.
