just seen local surgeon !?

Just got back from my appointment with a local plastic surgeon. He said my gyno wasnt that bad and was only a grade 2? what does grade two mean? can anyone post of pics of there gyno and tell me what grade it was please?

basically he tried is best to put me off, said good chance of complications with bleeding and chest may be sunken in and uneven etc?

how do i add pictures so i can get everyones opinions?

It means your surgeon doesnt have a clue what to do about your gyne or the first idea as to how to perform the op. Forget about him and go to a specialist.

I agree. Any amount of gyne is too much gyne and I am amazed how many time I have heard this tosh! 

As outertrial says, forget him. Get in touch with one of the surgeons used widely on here. It's the only sure way to get the best results.

In order to add pictures you need to upload them to the internet first, using a website like picturetrail or imageshack etc (google picture hosts), then use the 'insert image' button when making a new post, it is directly below the italic font button.


If it is an nhs surgeon they are always basically going to put you off as much as possible because of ££££ issues.......... plus they HAVE to mention the downsides, all surgery carries risks.

When it comes down to complications and results - well just look at the people on this forum: some are completely happy post-op...........

However many are also unhappy, lots of people seem to start of satisfied and then get worries during the healing process which never go away - creased nipples, skin dimpling/puckering (is that word?), lumpy & bumpy bits, slow healing, pain (pansies), all seem to be very common complaints whatever surgeon you go to  - so that would make me think that it is just a trade-off from the operation, no man-boobs but not a perfect chest either!

Have realistic expectations and you will be fine - expect to have the boobs removed but also realise you will might have a smaller flaw or complication put in its place..... whether it be a scar, a creased nipple or prolonged  swelling..... whatever.

That was a similar response from the NHS surgeon I saw. The bad thing about the NHS is you can't choose your surgeon, you have to accept whoever is assigned to you. I think alot of the times the surgeon may not have much expereince with gyne but they treat you as a practice patient, to develop their skills on.

You are intitled to ask for a second opinion..........   You aren't stuck with who you are sent to mate, but you do have to kick up a bit of  afuss......

I mean I had two NHS surgeons just refuse to even give me a consult, based only on the letter from my GP....  after seeing my private surgeon he said my case was so bad I should get it free and recommended a NHS surgeon........ I then got my GP to send me there.

In the end I went private for various reasons, but the point is you CAN ask to see someone different, even in a different area / city.
