Are you finding the post-opp harder mentally or physically?

Hard to say, it's a combination of both. My chest the day after surgery was completely flat, unmistakably flat. Then, scar tissue set in, and took away my complete happiness with my result. Don't get me wrong, it is MUCH better than it was pre-op, but not as good as it was immediately post-op. Now, it has been clearly expressed to me from many sources, including my surgeon, that once my scar tissue clears up, it will look the way it did the day after surgery. That could take 2 months, it could take 6 months, it may even take a year. Dealing with the uncertainty of when and how, is what makes the post-operative period so difficult for me.

That looks like a good improvement to me.  I bet that'll completely change how you look in a tshirt.

It's most definitely an improvement - a big difference.

dondante, are you still wearing your vest or is it off for good? How many weeks did Lista make you wear a vest. I will ask Fielding during my pre-opp next week however, if I recall correctly he said between 4 to 6 weeks.

hey smithers,

Dr. Lista told me to wear it for 6 weeks. Last wednesday was my 6th week post-op, but I'm continuing to wear it at night since I still have scar tissue and am not yet completely happy with my final result.

Hey Dondante,

Any new pics?  I'm curious to see what you look like now that you are 6 weeks post-op.

And what aspects of your results are you unhappy with?

Thanks.

Hey monsterclean,

I will post some pics in the next day or two... I'm basically unhappy with the fact that at this point I'm not as flat as I had hoped to be. I'm also keeping in mind that I still have scar tissue, and that it will take time for final results to show. So far, it is a very big improvement - but I am hoping for better than what it is right now.

I have to say that I think your results are great! It's your opinion that counts the most though but I'd be happy with that. Doesn't look abnormal at all.

Dondante,

Understand you have a normal chest (actually flatter than most mens).  I think the problem was a mental expectation that your chest would be flat, like a board. My result is not flat but normal looking.  If i wanted flat, I would be upset, but I wanted to be normal, so I am happy.  You look great.  Go out and look at normal guys without gyne, you will see your chest is flatter than many of theirs.  I think you are sweating over nothing!  Don't sweat the small stuff!!!

hey dondante,

thanks for the posting.

when you first posted that you were less than happy with your results, i got a little worried.  i have a similar pre-op case to yours....

looking at the pictures, i must tell you that you look great... ultimately, it's only your opinion that matters, but for what it's worth, those are great results!  congrats brother

Dondante, your results are looking good, keep i mind you are only 7 weeks. The dr in my opinon gave you a chest that suits your current body composition and looks natrual for your frame. You would of looked aukward if he would of given you a chest of a fitness model on your exsisting frame.I do not want to sound mean but i"ll be perfectly honest with you, you have body fat on your upper body ,that may be because you haven"t exersiced for a while because of the down time with healing post op or this is normal for you. What i can say is that if i saw you at the beach or poo side shirtless i wouldn"t think there was anything out of the ordinary with you,you now look normal so remember that this is where expectations come in question. If you are not happy with your current apperence  and i think you should be you can put a little sweat and good nutrtion to acheive the tighter looking body. You just need to tone up a bit.Iwas in a simular case as you until i started to tone up.i really recommend p90x extreme fitness program that will do the trick.
