Wow, everyone, thanks for the responses, I read them thinking "am I acting like one those guys on these boards who REALLY have nothing to worry about yet are obsessing over how they look?"

I totally get where all of you are coming from, and I think I needed a reality check - which is being delivered to me in spades! wbay21, Pacifico, monsterclean - thanks for the boost - it's much appreciated!

Braveboy, I really appreciate your frankness, you're not being at all mean, and you're absolutely right - I do need to lose weight, and, to my credit, I'm back at the gym and I know in a few months time the results of that will begin to show, too. I've actually looked into the p90x program, but I need to get into better shape before I can take that on. You're also right that it is only 7 weeks, and my scar tissue is still very present. Thanks for checking in, man, you're experience and opinion means alot to me!

hey dondante,

i can appreciate where you are coming from... i did ask dr. lista about what i can expect, and he mentioned that most patients feel that there is abuot 80% reduction in their gyne.... so it's not quite perfect... but i guess it's better to have that than the opposite, which would be too much removed and crater deformities..

Hey monsterclean,

that's the exact same thing he told me, and I definitely didn't want an irreversibly bad result.

That's fantastic, man! Piece of advice, take PLENTY of pre-op pics from every conceivable angle. You'll be amazed how quickly you forget how severe your gyne was. Also, my only regret is not taking a post-op pic the day after surgery - because your body WILL change quite a bit with lots of ups and downs post-op - and the way you look the first day post-op should be the indicator of how you will look when you've completely healed.

Remember, you can always delete them afterward. I had the same internal debate you're having, and I'm REALLY glad I did. Once they're gone, they're gone  ;)

just a note here.. I am 2 months post ops as well and I did not take a single photo of my pre-op condition.... and I am glad I didnt, cuz there is no looking back and only forward. I am pretty content with my decision but then again its personal preference.

hey minnhelp.

I remember asking you on your post whether you had any pre-op pics - I totally see where you're coming from. I, on the other hand, get this really weird pleasure when I see my pre-op pics and say to myself "glad THAT's over!"

Why you should take pre-op photos.  Once you get accustomed to your new chest, you may again have thoughts that you have gynecomastia.  Simply bring up your images, and you can see how far you have come.  Sometimes remembering, can help you forget!!!
(if the last sentence confuses you, "forget" refers to your evil thoughts that have crept back in)

I had my 3 month post-op with Dr. Lista yesterday. I'm happy to report he was happy with how I'm looking, and basically if I want anymore post-ops it's up to me whether or not to go back and see him again.

I doubt I will go back, though.

Just wanted to report that I came back recently from a march break getaway at a WATER PARK resort. You could never have paid me to go to a water park. It was sooooo nice to walk around with my shirt off and not having the anxiety, the double takes, that curious silence from people around me I felt whenever I had my shirt off in public. It was awesome. What was crazy though, was that before I had my surgery I never saw gyne on anyone except myself. I was seeing it EVERYWHERE at the water park. Is it just me? Is this condition WAY more common than I thought it was, I just didn't see it because I was so focussed on my own anxiety about myself? Anyways, one thing is for certain, I am VERY happy I had my surgery - and that happiness only gets stronger with each passing day. Do I have a washboard chest? No. But I don't have a washboard stomach either. I'm just a regular looking dude, and that's just fine with me. I also know that if I want to look even better I just have to keep going to the gym the way I have been and it'll all come together.
