Thanks :) I'm still hopeful!

In the end it was on the NHS with Mr. Masood, as private wasn't an option due to funds. As for the vest, it's brilliant imo, can make that bit of difference so you're more comfortable confident in your clothes! I got mine from ebay from a seller called elle-design, I originally bought a medium but couldn't even get it on (normally a M would be absolutely fine in most clothing), so swapped it up for a large.. So probably best to go one size above you're normal clothing as these things are pretty tight! The one I bought was : http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GYNECOMASTIA-Compression-VEST-for-MAN-BOOBS-L_W0QQitemZ390141061883QQcmdZViewItemQQptZMen_s_Clothes?hash=item5ad6382afb

Not cheap, but worth it imo. Also bought my post-surgical vest from them (which is better than the one hospital supplied, more practical.) The vests are actually made by Underworks, they're just a distributor.

stop eating junk food its a really bad idea after youve had the op you are just delaying your recovery time. get some pineapple juice/chunks and some fruit. Pineapple will help reduce the swelling. And for massaging you need Bio Oil its an essential trust me i dont know why the clinics dont recomend it, they do for women whove had breast surgery

Have you been wearing a proper compression vest thats fastened? You need to be carefull youre really not following the healing basics atm

Hey Todd,

what exactly is bio-oil? Is it a special kind of oil or a brand?

Do you get it in the US?

I can't find any firm medical evidence that biooil works at all......?

I remember when I asked my surgeon about it last year he pretty much told me to save my money.

time is the greatest healer etc etc

Some people say it works, some say it doesnt. I just find it great for massaging and the application really gets you into a routine of massging the area. There isnt much in the way of medical studies on the net but you can find doctors/dermatologists who back up its claims and reccomend it

and for £9 a bottle, it isnt worth not trying

I'm sure that is what a snake oil salesman would say.   :P :P

Give it a whirl but please don't expect miracles...

Okay so I've been feeling around my chest to try and figure out what's going on.. I've noticed if I lean over (so my chest is facing towards the floor), I can grab this hard mass between 2 fingers.

Now. The original mass I could feel pre-op was almost like a ball which I could move about and pinch between two fingers behind my nipple, it was probably the size of a 2p pence or so (2cm diameter or so..) What I can feel now if I lean over is a hard mass, I can't move it about. I'm not sure if it's disc shaped or a band like ==, but it runs behind my chest, not just the nipple area. If I pinch it between my fingers from top to bottom, it's about 5cm or so from top to bottom.. It doesn't hurt or anything to grab it. If I stand up straight and push my chest out again I can't move it atall, I can't really grab it either, it just feels like firmness in my chest. AS I said i'm not sure if this is running from left to right on each side of my chest or if its a discy shaped tissue, but either way it's much larger than what I felt pre-op and firmer.

Could this be scar tissue? Could it have developed to this extent/size baring in mind I'm 4 weeks post-op today, but have noticed a firmness for weeks. Could this be gland? I never noticed anything like this pre-op certainly.. and I've never heard anyone describe gland as being this large, and looking at my pics does that suggest either/or? My areolas are a fair bit smaller since the op, no longer puff up or pertrude and imo look very normal now, it's just the general chest shape.

I'm going to try and visit the doctor I originally went to aswell to see what they say, and may also see if I can get an earlier appointment with the surgeon.. but if any doctors/knowledge users could post there thoughts on this, it'd be much appreciated!

Thanks.

I think you have fogotten how much trauma you have put you body through. The hardness will disappear plenty of massage, good diet, and some exercise will do no harm.

My right side is still hard in pec minoe under my nipple and has only in the last week started to dissapate into smaller areas. the hardness is (correct me doc if i am wrong) blood that what cause the colour change in the brusing and now needs to be broken down because it is stuck in the muscle. the body will do this over time but massage will help to break it up and rid of it quicker. So yes it is scar tissue.

The pics look great .

Is it possible I could see a change in the shape of my chest then once this goes and to what extent do you think? What did you observe with your own?

Thanks!

Hi

Yes there should be a change in the shape just give it time to heal.

This the 5/6 week post op and the hard tissue is dissappearing every day just little but noticable to me.

Crack open the massage oil and massage morning and night. Up and down, left to right, small circles.

Okay cool. Well I got some Bio oil yesterday so I've started using that. How long should you be aiming to massage for each session? and can you massage 'too much'?

I did some press ups earlier and felt no discomfort or anything, should I be fine to start doing these yet (4.5 weeks post-op) or should I really wait until 6 weeks? Fingers crossed I'll see some change still in the shape of my chest!

Thanks
