I've read that there should be a rubbery/circular lump under the nipple.  Should you check for this laying down, standing, etc..?

Any suggestions welcome, thank you!

Do not believe what you read.  Gyne is defined as an excess amount of tissue on a man's chest.  The tissue, which is usually a combination of both fat and breast tissue, can have many different types of feel -- firm, soft, lumpy, etc.  What counts, however, is that there is excessive tissue (with or without puffy nipples) on the chest.

In many ways, this is a self diagnosis.  Many guys have some excess tissue on their chest and just choose to live with it or camouflage it with compression garments for a better shape.  Other guys will choose to have surgery to remove the excess tissue.

Only you can decide about what to do.  But do not make your decision based on how the tissue feels.
