Right, big update.

Booked in for Saturday the 4th of June (this coming Saturday!) Only problem is now is the bloods! I phoned my doctors practice earlier and explained the situation and she told me to come up at 12 tomorrow and I believe they're going to do them then, so hopefully it'll all go smoothly!

Yep, not sure it's quite sunk in yet! + I'm still a bit on edge as I'm anxious the bloods won't be sorted in time etc but hopefully it'll all be fine! Will be certain to keep you all well updated post-op with pictures and everything.

Good thinking, will do! Ah really, would have guessed it'd been busier on weekends, that's good! Admission time is 7.30!! So I guess I'm first of the day? Going to be a long day!

Right, went to the doctors and got my bloods taken earlier. She was a bit funny about it because I mentioned I was having it done privately (despite the fact she didn't actually know what gynecomastia was) but I mentioned I'd had it done on the NHS previously and stayed pleasant with her and she took the bloods anyway. She said if I phone up the surgery tomorrow they should be back and I'm going to ask them if they can fax them to Karidis's office on my behalf as I don't have access to a fax.

Payed off the remaining balance owed to the hospital today.. Had a bit of trouble with the payment being authorized, pretty sure it was the fault of the person trying to process it but none the less he was nice enough and we got there in the end despite having to ring the bank and see what was going on! Phew.

So now all that's left is to get the bloods back, get them to Karidis and hopefully everything should be good to go for Saturday!

Wow there is no stopping you mate! You have gone from investigating all your options only a week or so ago to having surgery book for Saturday - good luck, although you wont need any as you are in good hands.
I hope you get the result you are hoping for matey

Haha well I did loads of research into Karidis back in 2009 etc when I first wanted it done, and also in 2010 when I first considered a revision, but it just wasn't an option then. Suddenly it became an option and when I want something, I WILL make it happen! There's no stopping me.  ;D

Thank you mate appreciate it, as you said I'm in good hands so I'm hopeful that Saturday marks the end of an era, and the beginning of a new one. What time was everyone let out on the day of surgery and what time were you originally admitted? My admission is 7.30, realistic to expect to be out by 4/5?

yeah youl be out by then

yeah londons dead at the weekend, cause its so expensive to live in london most people commute in. If your getting a lift upto london you could do what i did. My old man drove me up at 5am got there 6:30ish (its dead on the roads) parking space right ouside for free (can park on double yellows on the weekend on that road). Get out at 4pm and a quiet drive back

no congestion charge (weekends are exempt)
cheap as chips

Traveling up with my mum, think the plan is that she's going to drive. No congestion charge on weekends? Didn't realize that, even better! Phoned hospital earlier to ask about parking and they said I could use the hospital car park round the back as the consultants aren't there on weekends or something, so that's free parking sorted. So really the only cost is the cost of fuel to get there! Brilliant  :)

Well I got my blood results back today, the surgery were a bit hesitant about letting me have them for some reason, because it was a private operation I think but got them none the less. Emailed the results to Nicola who's said she's getting the practice nurse to check the results and make sure they're all good, waiting on an email back from her to confirm that, hopefully that'll be today.

After that that's pretty much everything sorted and in place! Feels like Saturday is taking forever to come!! I've got this weekend off work, but think I'm going to have to go in next Friday and Sunday, do you reckon I'll be okay to do that? I work in a store as a sales assistant so only involves chatting to customers really, I'll say I've hurt my back to avoid lifting anything etc.

You should be ok I'd say mate, maybe a bit sore but that's all.
All the best for Saturday mate, you're going to be fine.
