Just had a call from someone from Karidis's office (can't remember name) to check I was all okay and ready for tomorrow. Confirmed I need to be there for 7.30, I asked when she thought I would be going in and she said I was second of the day so probably around 8.30, and should be out by 4ish. :) She said after the op I'd wake up in my compression garment and said Dr. Karidis would give me another one, does he provide two then? I was under the impression you only got the one?

Ah brilliant that's handy. Haha oh god, is it something you have a choice about?! I remember I had to wear these weird stocking things last time, that was fun.  ::)

Right well its 3.50AM, just woken up.. Absolutely knackered, had a couple of hours sleep at very best ! Leaving around 4.30AM, hoping to arrive for 7.30AM. This is the last time I'm posting, next time I'll be back and I'll be gyne free!  :) Proper thirsty but can't drink anything now until post-op! Going to be a long day, but hopefully a very good one at that.

See you on the other side guys, rest assured I'll be back asap to let you know how I get on.  ;D Thanks for everyone's help and support along the way, 'tis a great board, definitely wouldn't be in this position without you guys!!

PEACE!  :)

Home at last. Long day! Woke up at 3.45AM, set off at 4.30AM.. Arrived a little early but that wasn't a problem, went straight up to my room where the nurse had me sign a few bits of paper etc. Was given all my gowns etc. I see what someone meant about the pants! Bit of a joke haha, I just stuck them over my boxers, didn't fancy wearing just them ! Then the anesthetist  said a few bits, then Karidis came in and marked me up etc. He did again say he would have to get the amount he removed right in order to try and give me the best looking chest without leaving it looking saggy/loose. He said he'd do his best for me, and IMO he's the best in the country so if he can't give me a good result, no one can! Anyway he said he thought I'd be going down around 9.15AM, but I ended up going down a bit earlier, around 8.30AM. Got on the bed, got ready for the anesthetic and out I went, can't really remember where I woke up, I kept drifting in and out of sleep as I was nackered as it was. Got taken up to my room, moved over onto the hospital bed and had a little sleep. Then had some lunch which was quite nice, had spag bol, a bread roll, fruit cocktail and fruit juice. I did tick the 'sandwich platter and crisps' box but they never turned up, not sure if I was being to optimistic trying to get it all haha. Nurse came in frequently to check blood pressure, heart rate and temperature.

Karidis came up later in the day to see how I was, he said he removed quite a bit of gland and scar tissue, sounded as if there was more than he originally anticipated which I thought would be the case! He said there was no complications and he was happy with the result, so it's just a matter of seeing how the healing process goes I guess. I've still yet to see my chest, I guess the first time will be tomorrow when I put the waterproof plasters on. Anxious as hell if I'm honest but hey!

One thing I did want to ask was, I've got the regular compression garment on and also another compression band thing (its white, about 15 cm wide and goes right round and velcros at the front) on top, they told me to keep this on until tomorrow. Did anyone else have that? Haven't heard anyone mention it before! That's all for now I think, if anyone's got any questions etc feel free to ask me. Will certainly get pictures up at some point, not sure when though!

Well done mate, all the best and stay strong for the next couple of months if your results aren't 100% visable yet.

Sounds great dude! I think I heard someone else mention the band, I think its a new thing that Dr. Karidis is using post surgery perhaps?

Just out of curiosity, what time did you end up leaving the hospital after surgery?

Hi mate glad all went well. Yeah I had the white band aswell I hear it stops swelling and keeps the chest proper tight for the first 24hrs. I remember my time in recovery my finger nails were blue and then they said my heart rate was high and this continued through the day, scared the shit outa me when I look back!!!

Thanks guys. Glad I'm not the only one who had the band then haha. Left the surgery around 4 - 4.30PM mate as expected. Just as I was about to walk the nurse walked in and said "You're not going anywhere", my heart sank, "only joking, just gotta take your blood pressure once more" haha! All the staff were pretty sound though especially the male nurse who did my blood pressure etc he was pretty funny.

Guess I'll see my chest for the first time later if I do the plasters! Do I take off all the compression garments, and take off anything Karidis has put in place (plasters/padding etc) and then just cover up the incisions with these waterproofs, then re apply the black compression garment?

Just took off the compression garment as I wanted to have a peek and get a rough idea of what the result was before all the swelling onsets, discovered I've got blue padding stuff plastered onto my chest, did everyone have this? If so, should I be alright to remove them and apply the waterproofs already?

Dying to have a look! Aagh.

Right, I manned up and whipped off the padding/plasters etc. They were kind enough to make sure they were firmly attached to my armpit hairs so that hurt like f*ck haha.

Initial impressions - I think, so far so good? Certainly alot flatter, tried on some tops quickly and looks much better etc. Areolas looked smaller but they looked sort of wrinkled like when they're cold, so that might be due to all the compression they've been under etc. One concern is it looks fairly bumpy etc atm, some areas sitting higher than others etc, not sure how normal that is. Obviously it's early days so I've got to be patient and give myself time to heal. Pretty much no brusing so far etc either which is good.

If it maintains the level of flatness/contour there is now, but the uneveness etc sorts itself out I'll be very happy. Hopefully the areolas will stay smaller etc aswell! Doesn't appear to be any creasing atm either which is good! Did attempt to take some pics but a little bit of blood started oozing from my right areola so I quickly wiped that up and got the plasters on. I'll try and get some better pictures up tomorrow or something if I can!

Bring on the bruising, swelling and scar tissue I guess! Pah! In terms of pain, I feel fine, it's just a little discomfort. Took pain killers last night for the sake of it just to make sure I slept, haven't bothered with them yet today, got 1 more antibiotic to take later on.

So hopefully I can now be known as "ridofgyno19"  ;D
