Here are before pictures of my chest:

Here are 4 days post-op pictures of my lipo only surgery.

I don't really know what to think about my results at the moment. I somewhat expected my chest to be a lot more flatter and my nipples to be smaller -- I guess it's way too early to judge anything though. The surgeon said as far as he knows, it's great results for now and should only get better.

What do you guys think?

Why did you go with this surgeon if you knew he wasn't going to do excision?

Sorry, but to be blunt, it looks like there's a good amount of tissue still there.  Maybe it'll get better.  I gotta say though, when I checked the results of my surgery a few days post-op, it was probably even flatter than it is now.

I learned about lipo only being bad a couple of days before surgery, so it was kind of too late to cancel.

That's really unfortunate that you only found out about this a few days before surgery - I mean this is the textbook reason everyone says to research PLENTY before getting the surgery.  I know that's not going to help you now... Don't know what to say man, I hope it's just swelling.

I'm sure it is... I also plan to lose some body fat and get back in serious shape once my body allows me to.

Sorry to tell you but post-op swelling (which I am sure is there) just does not usually look like that.  You probably still have residual tissue present.

However, time will tell -- wait it out -- at least six months -- and then re-evaluate.

No harm in exercising, dieting and losing some weight during those six months -- it can only help.

Thanks for your reply Dr Jacobs, but I don't fully understand what you mean by that. You mean there should be a lot more swelling at this point?

No, if anything your chest should indeed be flatter -- even with the expected post op swelling.

The contours that you are exhibiting (post op) is more than swelling -- at least to my practiced eye, it appears that there is still residual tissue present.

I agree with Dr.Jacob. This is a common issue that we see.  Thirty percent of my practice is revision gynecomastia surgery and liposuction only is the most common reason.
