Has anyone who has either had the surgery or though about having it ever felt guilty? I mean yes this is hell to live with but there is soo many other people with worse contidions then gyne. (i know that is hard to believe if you have lived with this crap) but I feel guilty about the money ($6500) and I have just been thinking about this over and over. life could always be worse but i want this soooo bad... do you ever feel vein? or like you cant count your blessings? is this too much to ask for? please anyone give me your thoughts ideas comments. im going in tomorrow 8 am.  is this normal to feel bad? i feel really selfish because i have a family and that is alot of money. also i have siblings that also suffer from gyne and they either cant afford it or cant talk about it like so many of us. why is this so difficult? if I ever struck the lotto or became wealthy I swear I would pay for as many gyne operations as possible. thanks GOD BLESS

Yay! I was going to say that you shouldn't feel guilty about it. Before you can take care of anyone else you've got to take care of yourself, first. If you're happy then you can make others happy.

Good for you. I haven't had the surgery yet, I'm doing my research now, but I plan on it soon.  :)

Congratulations, Masked! NEVER ever feel guilty or that you are in any way vain in terms of fixing an embarrassing condition that no man should be compelled to put up with. We have all suffered enough from this condition affecting so many parts of our lives. Best wishes on a speedy recovery and keep us posted on how you're doing.

Cheers!

I think people get hung up on the term "plastic surgery."  When that's mentioned, most people automatically think of rich people who throw money at surgeons for the sake of their own vanity.

For those of us with gyne, it is something that is devastating to live with.  Those who elect to have surgery do so in order to live normal lives without ridicule.  In these cases, it is a necessity, not vanity.

The thought of guilt has crossed my mind. Mainly because I was lucky enough to get mild gyno covered by insurance. However, I dont see why self improvement is a bad thing.

I felt guilty about spending that much money on myself for surgery.  My wife and I talked about it, and she set me straight pretty quick!  She said nothing is too much to pay if it means you will feel better about yourself for the rest of your life.  Now that the surgery is done, I have to agree.  Mine was just after the Christmas holidays, which was also my 38th birthday, so I considered it a REALLY nice Christmas / Birthday present!
Shakenbake baby, SHAKE N BAKE!!  Ya, that just happened.

Feeling great! I posted before and after pics in another thread. I'm about five weeks out from my surgery, and everything looks great so far. Still have some swelling but that's to be expected. No pain or discomfort. Not feeling guilty at all!!
