Doctor says I only need Lipo, cant be!

Dont you have 6 months before your approval from the insurance expires? i did. you should call your insurance and see if you have the option to go out of network or find a different plastic surgeon in network. I was in a position similar to you, the first Plastic surgeon i got approved for said lipo would do the trick, i then found a different plastic surgeon that said i wouldn't need both, got approved and had the surgery 2 weeks ago for free, lipo and Excision.

everthing was done by the surgeon/family doctor, i applied for no insurance at all.

i didn't do anything either, the surgon made the calls/ sent the pictures. It might have been easier for me though because he was not a private clinic but worked for a larger company that was in network with my insurance company.

My family doctor, general surgeon, endocrinologist, and plastic surgeon all agree that I have purely adipose breast tissue (despite being 16 years old at a very normal weight). My doctors said that all I a need is liposuction. I've read on this forum many times people being disappointed with their lipo only surgeries, but I'm hoping my case is a little different as I don't have as severe lipomastia/gynecomastia as some of the other men on this forum. Wish me luck my surgery is this Thursday and I'm very excited

had my consulation today and surgery is in 2 weeks, bought the garment for $70, and they told me how to put it on (it was very very tight, and almost hard to breathe), she told me for 12 weeks i had to keep it on.

isn't that a lot of time? i heard other patients can take it off in 4-6 weeks, why did the lady say 12 weeks for me?

12 weeks seems to be the precaution, I've been told that as well but will likely go by feel. Longer periods protect the surgeon against premature claims for surgery num 2.  Wondering how long others kept theirs n for,  3-6 weeks IMO. ..?

so after we take the garment of in 3-6 weeks, than we can go swimming right, and show our body? everything would have healed and no scars?

I was told to stay away from public water, oceans etc and bathing for at least 4 weeks. Your surgeon should advise. But be patient, you'll likely be swollen and maybe bruised still. Just breath and take your time. Swimming means stretching your arms and chest out. Prob not advisable so early

Ok...fellas...I am curious.  How do you get insurance to cover your procedures?  Is it a process you have to go through?  Go to the endocronologist first?  Referrals?  Certain Dr?  What kind of insurance do you have to have?

I remember hearing somewhere that generally places that take insurance usually aren't reliable for this procedure or many cosmetic procedures in general.

Youll have limited range of motion for a few days, and it's great to have someone around helping out. Hopefully you can!

I don't think theres any rules about cannibalism per se, but you'll be fine, a few days of restricted movement will soon be a memory once it's all over

so after i come home from the surgery i should just lay down and watch tv?

any surgery would require a period of recuperation and rest. knowing this, judge your body accordingly. a few days of rest/tv/reading/gaming/writing/meditating/sleeping will do you wonders.
