10 weeks post op

Not much to say really. Still very much on the 'rollercoaster'.

Sometimes I'm not too happy with my chest, other times I'm delighted. The angle I look at it from, the lighting, the clothes I'm wearing etc can have an effect on how it looks, hence why I feel differently about it at different times.

Trying not to obsess over it too much but that's easier said than done!

It's a long ride. I'm 4 months and i still have a bit of a 'fatty' looking area around my armpits (the right side is worse then the left).

I have a second follow up on 5th April so i can ask more questions then the last follow up because its a bit further down the line of healing. Hoping he can advise me.

I had a bad ankle ligiment damage that made my ankle swell pretty bad and that took over a year to return to a normal size so i guess i heal pretty slow?

Anyway, look on the bright side mate. I don't regret having the op at all. I feel so much better about how i look even with the small imperfections i have atm that prob will sort in time. I didn't have good days with my old chest.

Summer is coming, we still have time to heal and do any gym work we want to do before.

Yeah I did promise myself pre op I would be patient so I'll just have to stick it out!

I'll be keeping an eye on your thread to see how you get on at your follow up appointment sjwsjw - be sure to keep us updated.

This roller coaster sucks right!! I know exactly how you feel.... Some days I'm over the moon and some days I regret having the op.... How the nipples looking? Mine are very similar to how your are in you last pic, have they improved?

sp my nipples have improved a lot. not 100% but they are much better.

Not wearing the compression vest makes a difference. It presses your nipples in and can make them look a bit creased but once you stop wearing it you see an improvement

I'm 6 months post and still have slight swelling on the right, it was major at first, looked like a moob, still does compared to the perfect left hand side.  And I get odd days where it hurts or feels numb, on both sides too!  I had a major spot breakout with using Bio Oil too, that was more depressing than the state of my chest to be honest.  All gone now though and I massage once a day still, usually in the shower with soap or gel.  Still have to go for my second follow up but have been mad busy with life (and loving it btw ;)  I will get down to see Karidis soon and enjoy a look out in London, rocking a tight tee! ;)  Well done mate, just hang in there, things will even out with time, all the best.  Nip

Swelling's looking quite bad today, saw my reflection in the mirror and you can see my chest protruding a bit through my shirt, had to hunch my shoulders :(

Hey - stop that kind of thinking....

Isn't the point of our surgery so that we have chests that look masculine and muscular?

After reading your post - I went and put on my shirt I wear all the time now - because I'm so proud I can wear it - and it makes me look like a man - with a masculine chest.

SO I took a picture.

But your post made it sound like you want your chest flat like a board?

I'm just saying - I bet you didn't have to hunch your shoulders... No one would have noticed anything unusual!

Funnily enough, it looked fine once I was home! Like I said before, it's my mind playing tricks. One day it looks great, another I'm worried. Emailed Mr Levick and he said theres nothing to worry about :)

Quick update:

Things have been really good recently, I don’t seem to have any 'bad' days when looking at my chest anymore. My chest ‘feels’ 95% back to normal, the only time I can feel a difference is when washing/massaging in the shower, chest is still slightly numb and there’s no feeling in my nipples yet. Also, if I over stretch I can feel a kind of hot pain behind my nipple but I really need to stretch as far as I possibly can for that.

I’ve been hitting the gym since about a month post-op – decided it’s time to look after my body now I don’t have gyno holding me back! Put on around a stone in weight and feeling good about myself in general, loving wearing tight tshirts and shirts, not something I’d have dreamt of a few months ago :)

Thanks for the kind words!

Thought I'd post a brief update, as the past couple of days I've noticed my chest has REALLY settled down, even more so than a week ago. It just goes to show that your body still goes through changes whilst healing even this far down the line (almost 4 months post op).

My chest looks exactly how I wanted it to look before I had the operation. So it's fair to say at this moment in time, I'm delighted with it.

6 Months update

Well, my views have changed slightly since my last report. Over the last few weeks I haven't been feeling 100% satisfied looking at my chest with my top off. I'm still hunching a bit as I feel it looks slightly 'moobish' if I relax my shoulders.

HOWEVER

I've been bulking for months, hitting the gym and eating loads. When bulking up, you're going to gain a bit of fat too so as of this week I'm starting to cut, which could make all the difference.

Don't get me wrong, with a top on it looks good, nice and masculine and not a hint of gyno. It's just I'd like to look good with my top off too.

I'll keep an eye on things and if I'm still not satisfied after my cutting phase I'll go back and visit Mr Levick. I'll probably give it to the 9 month mark, that should give me enough time to arrange revision before my year window for free revison runs out.

Otherwise, my incision scars are almost invisible. Still not really got 100% sensation in my chest (feels a bit weird when washing)and next to no sensation in my nipples, particularly the right one.

Do you have any more recent pics? thanks for your updates. Goes to show you really do have to be patient with this process. I'm five weeks post op and my feelings alter day to day. I doubt you will need a revision, your previous pics look really good.
