after reading posts by people who say their gyne is coming back, it worries me a little... what are the chances of gyne recurring?

The ultimate responsibility for a successful outcome of surgery is just as much your responsibility (and perhaps even moreso) than the surgeons.

First, your weight should be within normal range for your height.

Second, You should have a thorough physical evaluation to be sure that there is not an underlying Hormonal problem which has not been resolved.

Third,  Your expectations as to the surgical outcome must be realistic.

The surgeon needs to have a good patient for the best results.
