Endermologie: Ender WHAT again??  That was my reaction when Dr D introduced me to endermologie and highly recommended that I consider this.  Endermologie is a technique that is mainly used to treat cellulite, but it's also used post liposuction.  He explained how it helps to reduce the swelling and bruising and I can see the final results much sooner. He mainly suggested this to me because I had liposuction on my belly and flanks.  But he mentioned it will help with my chest contouring post gyne procedure as well due to the fact that he did some liposuction on chest area and there is swelling and bruising there. 

Dr D suggested folks at Body Care Professionals. So, I called them up and spoke with Pamela.  She explained to me how things work and in my case, I need to have 5 sessions.  She instructed me and insisted that I need to drink lots and lots of water.  Later I realized she treats celebrities and has been on TV including on Dr 90210 show.

Compression Tops and Abdominal Binder: I own several compression tanks and shirts.  I didn't buy these for the surgery but I used to wear them for several years to hide the G when wearing tighter shirts and t-shirts.  After the pads were removed from my chest, I didn't feel enough compression with the original vest by itself so I showed these to Dr Dadvand and he said it's ok for me to wear them instead of the surgical vest with zipper on the front.  They are more concealed under the shirt for outside and work.  He also wanted me to wear the binder around my waist to make sure there's good amount of compression on my sides and abdominal area. 

I was instructed to wear this combination for 6 weeks!

The tops are Underworks brand.

Welcome to the forum, man! and thanks for the nice words! 

I've been a strong believer than such issue should not control one's life, specially when there's treatments for it.

If you decide to do the surgery, make sure you've done your homework and choose a board certified plastic surgeon who is specialized in gynecomastia surgery.

How old are you and where are you located? in US?

Hardness Under the Nipples:  There's been hardness right where the incisions were around the lower edge of areola, which is expected as that's where the cut was and Dr D closed the opening and put some stitches.  He also told me that he put the stitches in a raised fashion so when it heals, it flattens out over time and looks natural.  I have been told not to massage them or mess around with them until I see him back again at 6-week post-op.  They've been somewhat painful to the touch, but the pain is getting less over time.

There has been another series of hardness of lumps about 1-1.5 inches under the areola right along the lower edge of pectoral muscle. These lumps have happened in a linear way along a line.  These also have been painful to the touch, but they are getting better.  Dr D told me they are normal to happen as part of healing process and I shouldn't worry about them, as long as the area is not red or warm to the touch.

I'm in a similar situation, celebrating the start of my 3rd week post-gyne. I'm also 38 and had lipo on my abs and flanks at the same time. I live in SF and had my surgery with Dr. Delgado, who did a fantastic job - and his support staff has been wonderful as well.

I'll concur that the abs and flanks were the real source of pain post-op. My surgeon warned me of this, but I was so fixated on my chest - for some reason the idea of being cut around my nipples really creeped me out (I don't like anyone to even touch my nipples) - that I didn't give the other parts much thought going in. Also, in addition to the two breast drains I had a drain inserted in my abdomen, which further limited my movement and was pretty uncomfortable, especially when trying to sit down or get in and out of bed. Ugh, and I'll never be able to smell isopropyl alcohol again without conjuring up those strange sensations from "milking" my drains.

But here I am only 2 weeks later (honestly, pre-op feels like months ago) thrilled with my new body. Almost all of my bruising is gone and while there's still some swelling in my flanks, which I'm told will gradually decrease over time, I still look much better than before - hell, I'd have no problem parading down the street shirtless right now!

Anyway, I still may do a post about my own experience when I have some more time, but just thought I'd chime in here since we had a similar procedure. I appreciate your detail and pics. I don't have that level of documentation because my operation was largely on the down low (I only told one very close friend about it, so far). I did my initial recovery in a motel near the surgery center and the doctor's office arranged for a nurse to pick me up and monitor me the first night. Also, I didn't really care to know the gruesome details. My last words before being put under was a polite request that no one shove a jiggling pile of blood, fat and glands in my face when I wake up, I was willing to trust that they did the job.

And thanks for the info on endermologie. I'm going to ask my doctor about that.

First of all, welcome to the forum and congrats on your 1st post!  This forum has helped me a lot to learn about gynecomastia and made me 'consultation ready'.  And thank you for the nice words on my results.  Things are still improving and I'm excited to see the final results in a few months!

Dr Delgado is amazing and I'm sure your results will be great.  And I'm sure you have done your homework and went for surgery as an educated consumer and you probably paid him more than what others were asking.  But what matters is the final result!

As far as the level of details I have been aware of and sharing here, I actually wanted to know what happened when I was out to the tiniest detail.  I have always had the curiosity: the 'thing' for medical and surgery, now we are talking my own body!  Dr D was very thorough to answer all my questions.

This is very intimate issue and I chose not to tell anybody, not even my brother or the closest friends, unless they must know.  And the only person must know, as of now, was my wife.  Nobody else knows and quite frankly it's none of anybody's business.  I'm sharing my experience here so others would know that there's hope and treatment.  When I went back to work, I got a few 'evaluating' looks from head to toe from my colleagues, for the obvious reason and few comments asking if I have lost weight recently!!

Contrary to my initial disbelieving, endermologie worked amazingly. I saw a huge improvement the day after the first treatment.  The lady who does this told me some plastic surgeons swear by it and others still don't believe in it.  So keep that in mind when talking to Dr Delgado.  It cost a few hundred bucks for a few sessions, but I'm glad I did it.

May I ask you Sid, to share a few pre and post op pics if you feel comfortable? Also, how long did your surgery take (both being under and the actual part)?
