Good job dude!  How is it looking / feeling so far?  Just had mine done 3 days ago.  More minor case than yours and only the boobs.  Going to post of "after" pictures?

Thank you Tyler!

I feel great and the outcome is improving.  Overall, I'm very happy with the results I have right now at this stage.

Down below, I'm posting pictures at 14 days post op.

Are you planning to share your before and after pictures with the forum?

Day 14:  things are improving and I really appreciate how the endermologie improves the results.  Remember at two-week mark, I had only one session of endermologie. Comparing day 7 and day 14 results, I see a huge difference already.

First of all, welcome to the forum and congrats on your 1st post!  This forum has helped me a lot to learn about gynecomastia and made me 'consultation ready'.  And thank you for the nice words on my results.  Things are still improving and I'm excited to see the final results in a few months!

Dr Delgado is amazing and I'm sure your results will be great.  And I'm sure you have done your homework and went for surgery as an educated consumer and you probably paid him more than what others were asking.  But what matters is the final result!

Oh, I paid a premium - probably double what I could have paid - for Delgado, and including the flanks it was pretty steep. But, perhaps the most important lesson I took from my research into this surgery was the consequences of getting it wrong. We're not talking about a haircut here, I'm literally putting my life into this person's hands and authorizing him to permanently alter my body. I read too many horror stories from people who took out loans or drained their savings only to find themselves with a new set of headaches. I literally trembled when I saw the amount printed on that cashier's check to pay for my procedure, but the peace of mind going into surgery and now the relief that - so far, at least - everything is going even better than I imagined is worth every penny.

This is very intimate issue and I chose not to tell anybody, not even my brother or the closest friends, unless they must know.  And the only person must know, as of now, was my wife.  Nobody else knows and quite frankly it's none of anybody's business.  I'm sharing my experience here so others would know that there's hope and treatment.  When I went back to work, I got a few 'evaluating' looks from head to toe from my colleagues, for the obvious reason and few comments asking if I have lost weight recently!!

My plan was to keep it a secret, and I almost pulled it off, but I kind of ended up in a situation where I would have had to lie about my whereabouts to my closest friend so I spilled it. It actually felt really good to get it off my ... er, you know. Still, I don't have plans to bring it up with friends - I mean, the whole point is to move beyond constantly thinking about my chest - but I'm no longer consumed with shame over it.

I really hated to lie to my work, but the alternative would be to bring up intimate issues that I just do not find appropriate for that setting. My workplace is relatively small with colleagues I've known for years, and I'm normally pretty open about my life, so dismissing questions about my absence with "it's personal" would have just raised eyebrows. so, reluctantly, I went with the hernia surgery excuse, which has worked pretty well. My friend eased my conscience by suggesting that the lie is really to protect them from awkwardness.  :)

My gyne wasn't particularly severe and I've been wearing compression undershirts and strategic clothing for a while now. I've also been losing weight anyway, so any change in appearance shouldn't be too shocking. In a way, I welcome the post-op swelling around my waist because it should gradually decrease as if I'm just dieting.

Contrary to my initial disbelieving, endermologie worked amazingly. I saw a huge improvement the day after the first treatment.  The lady who does this told me some plastic surgeons swear by it and others still don't believe in it.  So keep that in mind when talking to Dr Delgado.  It cost a few hundred bucks for a few sessions, but I'm glad I did it.

May I ask you Sid, to share a few pre and post op pics if you feel comfortable? Also, how long did your surgery take (both being under and the actual part)?

Good luck with your recovery and talk to you again!

---Bobby

Yeah, I emailed the patient coordinator about the endermologie and she said it wasn't necessary and my swelling should go down on its own in 10-14 days. Not sure if this only applies to my case or if Delgado is in the skeptic camp. Still, I don't mind holding on to $500.

As for pics, sure. I still need to get copies of the official pics the doc took during my pre-op visit, but I'll try to put something up soon.

You and I had the same thinking over the $$$ vs. the outcome issue.  And I also chose peace of mind and not regretting afterward and trying to fix the mess!!

Dr Dadvand took some pictures pre-op, but I did my own part and took tons of photos and videos pre-op and at each stage afterward.  You never know when you need them!

How is your numbness around chest and flanks?

Good luck with your recovery and I'm looking for ward for some pictures from you.

I would have spent the money had they told me it would even slightly improve my outcome, but the coordinator seemed pretty emphatic that I didn't need it. This just might be specific to my case (maybe it has to do with loose skin from more serious cases?) because I recall reading somewhere on Delgado's website that they have some kind of massage machine in their office for patients. If that's the case than I definitely appreciate them not trying to sell me something I don't need.

It'll be 3 weeks on Thursday and my flanks are still somewhat numb, but it's not something I really feel unless I specifically check for it. Chest feels pretty normal. I've been pleasantly surprised that I've had no issues at all so far with my chest - no pain, minimal swelling. Last week the doc said there was some swelling there, but considering what I used to see they look pretty damn good right now.

I have mostly fully range of motion with my arms now, at least when I'm wearing my vest; but I'm still not reaching for tall shelves or anything.

Still some swelling in the flanks, especially the rear, and a little on my abs. It's a bit disconcerting because to me it looks just like fat, so I was reassured when the doc said it was swelling. I'm still nervous about gaining weight from what will be a month of inactivity, but even so I'm getting pumped at the idea of having a "normal" body in time for summer. I'll see fit shirtless guys on TV and it'll suddenly dawn on me that, "Wow, with some hard work it's now possible for *me* to have a great body!" It's hard to wrap my head around that when I think of myself as a teen, in my physical prime, busting my ass and becoming borderline anorexic in a futile effort to flatten my chest and my sides. I've already started researching personal trainers.

Mostly I'm still just really restless from not being able to exercise.

How about you? You're only about a day behind me, right? (my surgery was 1/8/15)

I had my surgery about a week before you and will be 4 weeks in a couple of days.  I had my surgery first thing in 2015. Gotta stick to the new year's resolution  ;D

I have the same numbness and unfamiliar feeling around my flank and also on the sides of my chest toward armpits.  Dr D told me he did some lipo on my chest for contouring and I guess that's the reason I have numbness over there.  But I'm sure everything will be back to normal in maximum 6-month time frame.

I live across the street from my gym, LA Fitness. I walk my dog and pass by their windows everyday and see people working out inside.  All I want to do right there and then is just go in, grab some weight and start working out.  soon...

Dr D told me once he clears me to resume working out, he will give me instructions and limitation on the intensity and type of workouts and will gradually increase the level.  We will talk about it when I go in at 5 week post op visit.

Excuses I used:  I believe gynecomastia surgery is a private matter and I didn't want to talk about it with the people I know, even the closes friends and families. The only person who know the pain and suffering I was going through and have been present through all the steps including saving money for the surety and consultations and surgery itself, was my wife.

So, I walked into my direct supervisor's office, closed the door and told her I need to have a talk with her.  I told her that I need to have a surgery soon and I need to take off work, but it's really hard for me to talk the details or the surgery itself.  I told her I'm not planning to tell my other coworkers that I will have a surgery but will use another excuse.  She said she understands and wished me good luck. She asked me when I will be able to go back to work and I replied about a week once I'm off pain medications and can drive.

On the day of surgery, I sent a text message to my colleagues and told them that I fell off a ladder, pulled some back muscles and fractured my tailbone, so when/if they see the abdominal binder around my waist they think it's because of the incident.

I told my close friends and relatives including my in-laws that I got a bad flu and I'm worried to give it to them so I didn't see them for a few days (until the drains were out).

Wow man you look great! The difference is huge, what a pro surgeon. It must have been tough living with gyne that big. I got my pectus excavatum fixed a month ago and it boosted my self confidence already. I have only the puffy nipples but I still hate them and I hope they will go away as I almost 18 now. Great story to read aswell, I wish you all the best with your recovery.

Thank you for the nice words man!  It was hard living with those huge boobs and at some point I decided that enough is enough.  I feel great now.  I just can't wait to be allowed by Dr D to go back to gym.

Good luck on your surgery recovery too and wish you the best on your G case!
