My PS prescribed me Relafen 500mg and told me to take it morning and night for 2 weeks. Is this even safe? Would it be effective at all to reduce inflammation/swelling?

Relafen is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication.  It can be used for pain -- but there are many many other drugs for pain as well.  It is used to reduce inflammation for arthritis patients -- I have never heard of it being used for a post-surgical condition.

Thanks for the reply. I am very confused as to why he prescribed this. I could have sworn he said it was to reduce swelling. Are you saying this drug won't reduce post-op swelling?
