As for button down shirts, I and many others I know wear them all summer long in 90 degrees plus weather just to cover our side arms! We can open carry here in MN however there are times that you may run into morons that it's just better to just keep the shirt on, even in the law enforcement community!

Then the answer is simple move to a cooler climate, one where wearing tights and leggings is more comfortable. Then change professions to something that will keep you from standing for long periods of time. The choices are risking a Deep Vain Thrombosis (DVT) event which could kill you or cause you to loose you leg, or make the necessary changes in your station in life to accommodate your medical issue.

I understand that varicose veins are (except in a few instances) a genetic condition but like anything else you have choices in managing it in order to minimize the risks to your health.

 
You appear to not be understanding my situation.
I do NOT need to make accommodations to deal with my medical issue - it is easily treated with surgery and is a much better and safer option than compression hosiery.
Besides the main point above, changing professions in your fifties after 3 decades in a decently compensated field is totally unrealistic.
My peeve with this is the fact that the doctor wants to treat with a bandaid instead of actually fixing the problem. And to top if off, it's a bandaid that is unusable 6 months of the year.
It's kinda like someone having their knee messed up and being told to use crutches instead of having an easy surgery that will actually correct the underlying problem. Crutches (for the rest of your life) will work - you'll still be able to get around...
I mistakenly thought "quality of life" mattered to doctors.

Simple answer then get another physician. It is still (temporally) a free country, take your money to someone who will meet your demands.

Agreed, and I would like to also add, as someone who has gone through 2 total knee replacements, it's not a simple surgery!

I already have an appointment with another doctor at a different medical group. It still irks me because I should not have to make multiple appointments and pay multiple times to find a doctor that believes in quality of life.
It's not like this is a cosmetic choice - the health consequences can be fatal.
It seems more people care about the quality of life for every type of animal OTHER than humans.

And Hammer, I wasn't referring to a joint replacement - those are quite major. More along the lines or torn or separated bits and pieces.

Bummed please believe me that it doesn't matter what country that you are in or what continent, doctors are people and people can be easy or difficult to deal with. There is no magic bullet. 


And it will not help by getting frustrated most people including those in the medical profession simply do not care if you live or if you die let alone what quality of life you have.

What supplement are you taking? My bloodwork always comes back fine but I am willing to try what worked for you.

Well you are wrong about the fat issue, I am 5' 8" 165 and I am a 38DD with very protruding nipples. Male breast development is for the most part a hormone issue and or a genetic predisposition to develop breasts. Yes Aptos fat can increase the size of an obese man, just as it can in a woman.

It is the source of the hormone imbalance which is at issue, as I said sometimes it is genetic, other times and more likely it is caused by medications, sometimes both. It all depends.

Male breasts are for the most part a physiological issue not a threat to a man’s physical health. Everyone develops differently and for different reasons, but there is always a reason.

I am bigger and more pronounced that most, yet I (and many others) have learned to thrive without issue. Yes in most social encounters I wear a compression sports bra and the proper attire to provide concealment but that is not for my comfort but for others who are less enlightened towards others.

I work with seriously disabled Veterans and most people do not take a second look at a man with a prostatic limb but a man with pronounced breasts, most people are very uncomfortable with this.

If you are a 36D why dont you just go to a broad certified surgeon and have them removed. I DID and it was the best money ever spent!

Actually I am a 38DD on a 5'8" 165 lb fit frame. Money is not an issue for me, undergoing a purely cosmetic surgery for vanity I do have an issue with.

If you are happy with the results of your surgical procedure and it improved your self esteem then good for you.

I have no such issue and believe I know and understand what Gynecomastia is.

If someone (say you) believes that some form of cosmetic surgical procedure will improve their station in life then no one is stopping you from saving your money and doing what you believe is in your best interests.

Stop complaining and either move on with your life or do what you believe is best.

Like I said in the other thread you just don't seem to read properly or your too busy looking down your nose to comprehend full sentences clearly. I had the surgery 2 years and aren't complaining about anything because I don't have gynecomastia any more. The surgery is cosmetic imo not just that. If the growths where cancerous it wouldn't be cosmetic surgery. I know by definition it is cosmetic but it just seems like the way you say it is as though its just pure vanity fueling the entire forum and every one should just get over gynecomastia and get on with life.
