What exactly is the liposuction postop swelling/firmness?

Question to docs: What exactly is that liposuction postop firm areas (almost feels like a lump behind the areola)? I read something about the tumescent liposuction that can cause hardness of the skin and subcutaneous tissues. This has been there since my surgery (I'm 9 days post-op) and hasn't changed in size or consistency, so I don't think it's a seroma or hematoma (no fluid, no bleeding). No significant pain. In my case, it's worse on the right, leading to a puffier areola.
