I'm scared

The area immediately under my left nipple has been sore for a few months now.  I went to my PCP yesterday and her initial diagnosis is gynecomastia.  Next she's having me go to a breast clinic to see a specialist.  I'm in 6 years remission after being succesfully treated for Hodgkin's Disease.  I am obese (5'11", 275 lbs).  But I think my gynecomastia is related to smoking pot (which I promptly ceased last night).  Anyone want to tell me to relax a bit?  This has really caught me off guard.

By the way....I was more frightened of the possible underlying causes of my gynecomastia.  Hopefully it's just the weight and the pot that caused it to manifest itself and nothing more serious than that.  I can live with how my chest looks!  Doesn't bother me.

Marijuana and Obesity have both been linked to gynecomastia.  There are something like 200 or more Pharmaceuticals that may cause gynecomastia as a side effect.
 
The condition is not a problem in itself, but it can be a symptom of disease so you are wise to be checking things out.

Congratulations on beating the Hodgkins,  This should be a piece of cake compared to what you have already gone through.
