Best of luck and have fun!!!

Don't rush it. Try as many different bras as you can. Also, don't just stand when you are trying on each bra. Make sure you sit, reach, bend at your waist, and even hug yourself. You want to make sure that your girls stay in the cups as you do routine things throughout the day.

Yes! My friend just went in for a fitting a couple weeks ago and purchase some bras. They fit fine when she first put them on and decided to buy them. After she wears them for a day she notices that her girls don't stay in the cups and she ends up with quad boob. She apparently needed another cup size larger because she didn't move around a bit to really check her bras out.

The Safina looks like a wonderfully supportive bra
You're right. It is.
A bra is just an article of clothing for people with breasts.

Any of them racerbacks?
The Anita Safina is a normal bra. Even the Anita Momentum sports bra has no racer back. The pics of the black and white bra show the same model.

Another thing to remember is 'WHO' measures you at a fitting can change things as well.
My friend was measured by a younger girl still in high school and she told her she was a 40 C. My friend was wearing a 38 DDD. She settled on 40 DD and left. Those bras didn't fit after moving around all day. So she asked me to measure her. I came up with a 38 DD.
She went back and bought a couple but only took the tags off of one, it's better she says she gets a little quad boob after working in it.
The measurements are just a starting point and gives you a handful to work with.
She also bought a couple other styles in the 40 DD that fit perfect, so style of bra has a lot to do with fit a well. I find that I need a smaller band in the T-shirt bras than I do other bras. Also I get a little quad boob in my lace bra that I don't in bras the same size but different styles.

When i made my appointment for my fitting on Friday, I talked to the owner that with all of the bras i bought none of them hade a band and cup size.  And I’d   really like to find out what band size and cup I actually was. She promised me we would find out.

It was a great experience at the shop Friday.  First they measured me and brought me a 40D  Then the parade 😄of bras started as the band size decreased along with the cup size.  They suggested a simple cotton with extra side support and eventually we arrived at two that fit, a 36 C in light blue and a 36 D in beige.

I tried on about a dozen different bras to find the two that fit. At one point  I told the sales associate that I wasn’t going to be responsible if I broke a bra just trying to stretch it to get it on!  That got a laugh. 😂I also picked up another sports bra that was a 38 C and looked more like a regular bra rather than the sports bras I’ve been wearing that seem to cover most of my chest and back. It did the job this morning when I exercised.

I had to use the hook em in front and twist method to try the bras on as there was no way I was going to get them hooked behind my back.  Thanks to the forum for suggesting that method!!i  Never made it to the Anita bras 😩, guess I’ll save that for another day.

As was said in the forum, the measurements are just the starting point, then the journey begins! 😘 How true!  I’ll try and get a picture of me in the blue one and post it when I figure out how.  Thanks again everyone!

Parade of bras is so right. And that's very typical. Always expect 30 mins to an hour when bra shopping. As time goes on and you become more familiar with your size and what styles work for you, can probably cut it down to 30 to 40 minutes. But take your time. Don't rush it. Enjoy the experience. In the long run it's well worth it for getting the right bra. You will be glad you did. Your experiencing something very few men ever get a chance too. And you are getting a peek behind the curtain, so to speak.

I am glad you had a wonderful first experience!

I'm so happy for you 💓! I have always enjoyed bra shopping. I love the "thrill of the hunt". Like I said before, knowing you correct bra size is not the only thing needed when you are bra shopping. Bra sizes can be soooo subjective, depending upon your breast shape and placement.

For me, I'm wide rooted and narrow set. I was FOB, meaning that my breast shape was fuller on bottom. Since I have been on estradiol, I have noticed that top of my breasts are filling out more. Not enough to change my cup size  yet but I do have better cleavage.

Once you find what fits, then you will want to look for what shape you want to present. I prefer the shape that Elomi, Fantastie, Wacoal and Torrid provide. It's a more rounded and less projected shape.

You will also want different bras for different tops, tasks, and weather. The colors, patterns, and material combinations are almost endless.

The more you shop and try different bras, the more you will learn. Have fun with it. Take your time when you're shopping. Remember to bend over, sit, reach and even jump to see how well your girls stay in their cups and the band is comfortable and stays in place.

This was actually my third fitting in two months.  One at Lane Bryant, one at Torrid and this one at a local bra store, where the owner has been doing bra fittings and alterations for over 40 years (yes she was in my age bracket 🙈).

I’ve absorbed some knowledge at each store, had a blast at Torrid, but this store was different. At this store the attitude was so what if your under bust is 42, that didn’t mean the correct band size for me isn’t a 36 or a 38!🤣  the Sales Associate was in conversation with the owner as the fitting went on, and on two occasions the owner stepped in to the dressing area to assist and direct the sales associate on what style/brand to try next.

By contrast both the other fittings were try the bras in a 42 or 40 band in the smallest cup size they had, but when that failed, go to the bras sized 2, 2x, 22/24, 26/28 and so on.   I’m still in shock over how much this store had me stretching the bras to try them on.  😳

It was a bit more expensive at this store, but it was very worth it to me as I got to learn a lot more about bra shopping.

If C and D cups are working for you, then you definitely are too big to go braless.  My experience is that it’s not unusual to try on 10 different bras when bra shopping.  Thank you for sharing your experiences.  Looking forward to the picture you plan to post.

Here’s the photo I mentioned.  Had to figure out how to load it.  I think it’s a bit more blue than the picture, I’ll blame poor lighting.  This one is a 36 D.

Hey, that looks like a comfortable bra.  Further along your journey you might want to try an underwire bra with side support as they provide more shaping and stability to the breast tissue.  You may also find yourself wearing smaller bands with larger cups as I have.  Wearing a bra eventually becomes second nature.

What a comfortable looking bra. Looks like it gives gentle support. I prefer more structured support and containment but there's a lot to be said for a comfortable bra when around the house. If I know I will be just hanging out at home all day I prefer comfortable support over structured appearance. And that bra fills the bill! Good for you!

These are comfortable, and I’m happy with my purchases .  I did have them bring me an underwire, but that one didn’t work, and having found 3 that did, coupled with already being about 45 minutes into the appointment, I’ll save the underwire try for another day.😁.  But now I have a good band and cup size to start my exploration from.

Starting my morning out by putting on the new bra I picked up on Saturday. An unlined lace underwire bra from Torrid.

Absolutely a great purchase as it's very comfortable, and doesn't retain a lot of heat. I most likely would not wear it during the cold Winters as things could be a bit "nipply."

I'll be going on the bus today and that should take anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half to arrive, so I shall be wearing disposable incontinence briefs. But otherwise I would be wearing matching panties.

If you are going to be wearing a bra because of necessity, it might as well be cute as well.
