It happened in April 2005. A man was going topless in public and was charged with indecent exposure.

A bra is just an article of clothing for people with breasts.

What a shame. Whether the person was trans and not out, non binary and not a mainstream term yet and just living both sides of the fence with their hair and topless or whatever the case be for this person. What a shame to be publicly posted about online and in police blotters. Can’t imagine in 2005 where social media was just beginning to exist, to have to go out and about wondering if anyone has read the paper or online and seen your name and why it was in there.

Honestly wish they’d had shown a picture of the person or could find a picture of them to see what the fuss was all about. If arrested for the reason given, I’d imagine their breasts had to have been clearly female in detail, size and presentation. At 6ft 200lbs it’s clear the person is not a heavier person so unsure if a flatter stomach and projected chest and feminine hairstyle provided room for interpretation. But just ridiculous.

Whoever the person is hope they weren’t too taken back by the bs of it in the long term of dealing with their chest.

To be fair, if our breasts are big enough to need a bra then maybe we should conform to what ever exposure laws are in place. It is just public decency.

And if wearing a bra is part of a dress code perhaps we should also comply.
If the bra fits, wear it.

I don't know how big he was but if they are fully developed I personally wouldn't go around exposed.

That does make me think that perhaps now it wouldn't be a problem.  The law of the land is that there are only two sexes.  M & F

That said I would argue that men needn't cover up.  Look between my legs, and my birth certificate.  Just a thought.

IMO, this seems to be in the 'pick your battles' category...wrong battle.

I was riding the bus a couple years ago and glanced over to see a man with very large breasts sitting exposed on his porch drinking a beer. He looked to be very tanned so I'm assuming it was common for him. He was only slightly overweight, and probably at least a G cup but obviously male including the beard.

I'm assuming nobody bothered him about it, because his tan was evenly dispersed over his shoulders chest and stomach. This was apparently common practice for him and nobody bothers him.

I think that "indecency clause" can be more at the officers discretion. And that is more debatable in court.

I used to be very nervous browsing the lingerie section in shops but now I am not at all bothered. In one department store I  selected some bras and approached a member of staff to ask where I could try them on. Without hesitation I was directed to the nearby lingerie changing rooms. I did question this  given the recent legal issues in the UK around single sex areas, I had expected to be directed to some male facilities.   Be polite and confident we have a right to exist.  All my recent bra shopping experiences have been very positive and I don't present as female.
