Yesterday I had my appointment for an echocardiogram. I was waiting in the waiting room when they called my given name. I immediately started rolling towards the person in my wheelchair and she gave me a funny look and said you are..?

I confirmed that I was the person she was looking for and then gave her my birthday to verify.

Before the procedure she informed me that I would have to remove my shirt and bra, and wear a gown so I did so and she left the room while I disrobed.

She was very careful and kind in using towels to keep me covered up whilst she did the procedure. My breasts were never fully exposed.

She did notice the scar in my cleavage then asked me about my breast cancer surgery. And I informed her that it was a lumpectomy followed by chemo.

We had plenty of very pleasant conversation during the procedure, and she referred to me as "girl" several times.

She also questioned me about my lunch bag having the name "Birdie" written on it, and I explained to her that it has been my nickname since I was a little kid. It was given to me by my grandmother.

I was treated just like any other woman going in for a echocardiogram.

Good for you.
Are you out of Texas yet?

House finally sold here in NCW Washington, heading to Tennessee.
The medical community here is turning near lethal for me. Refusing to do advised scans, cancelling prescriptions and not scheduling frequent enough labs to monitor this syndrome.
I am at risk for breast cancer, pancreatic & thyroid tumors and broken bones from osteoporosis.
I am working on getting into NIH program that studies this condition. One doc says I should be a published case study.
Hang on, Birdie… hoping the best for you.
Regards, Bob
