I'm Obese, middle age man, recently stated having mostly unilateral tenderness, but I don't feel any lumps in the breast. Its more like a bit swollen and tender when pressed. Also the nipple is more tender than usual. I've had it before (but less tender), and then it has gone away. This time its more prominent though.I guess its a good thing I can't feel a lump, but I worry it could be something else. I'm also taking medications that can have gyno as side effect rarely. Seeingmy GP in 2 weeks.
Should I be worried?

  • Nothing is impossible, merely expensive.
There are so many possibilities with your symptoms.  Just keep reminding yourself that the big "C" is a very, very small chance.   Try to stay calm and talk to your doctor.   It is most likely an infection, or the onset of gyno.

First thing is to share this with your GP.  My GP recommended me to a breast doctor that also does surgeries.  He confirmed that I had Gyne.  I only take a blood pressure and cholesterol medication.  Advised that I don't do surgery.  More risk than reward.  I was 63 then and over weight.  Probably obese under the new guidelines.

I began an exercise routine and, over two knee surgeries have lost 75lbs.  i feel great and getting in 3 miles a day at 75.  Unfortunately, the breasts didn't follow the weight loss.  With 40C and a 34" waist it's hard.  Doing the best i can to conceal them.  Winters are great.  Summers, not so much.

I have mammograms every two years.  They show some more breast tissue, but no cancer.
