I've mentioned spending time on a website devoted to breast enhancement, often using a variety of herbs and supplements to do the trick.  I wasn't interested in increasing the size of my breasts but I was curious about men who are.  There were a variety of approaches but it made me aware that some of the things that are part of my normal diet and health routine potentially could affect my breast development... helping Mother Nature who is using diminished testosterone which comes with aging to give estrogen free reign in my body.  I take nettles which is a natural antihistamine and for the last few years have been using ground flax seeds on my oatmeal.  Both of those are considered useful for men who want larger breasts.

I feel as though my breasts have gotten fuller in the last few years and began wondering whether the choices I've made for legitimate health reasons could be part of the equation.  Again, I'm not trying to increase the size of my breasts but this could be the outcome of decisions I've made.  We all know that some of the things we choose to do or are required to do can affect breast development.  Although I have BPH and perhaps would benefit from medication to deal with side effects, I've chosen not to take that path... at least up until now.  Breast development is much discussed here in large measure because it isn't embraced by the general population.  So we seek support from other men who are also navigating this territory.  This is a wonderful website for doing that.  I don't know if the nettles and flax seed is having this affect on me but I really appreciate the health benefits and am not inclined to change anything.  Perhaps those recommending these things don't know what they're talking about.  We each need to make the best choices for ourselves.  I like my breasts but really don't want them to be bigger.  Let's see what Mother Nature has in store... I'm along for the ride.

I suddenly developed breasts with no epigenetic factors. No meds, supplements, herbs, or juicing. The cause later was found to be phenotypic MEN Syndrome. Multiple Endocrine Neoplasia.
During this interval the usual happened,  E went up & T went down. It created many menopausal like symptoms. Hot flashes of the recalcitrant & disabling sort. Used to short out my hearing aid batteries regularly.

Tried everything under the sun, phytoestrogens, flaxseed etc. with no discernible relief. Birdie, on the other hand had great success with the flaxseed. I graduated to PM, pueraria mirifica. Stout doses in my search, only to find a scant effect.  The SE Asia lore of this herb is replete with male breast development.
As a retired practitioner of OR & ICU Nursing my opinion is those gentlemen are chasing a pipe dream.
In the long and labyrinthine route for answers the only thing that worked was the reintroduction of E after the point of all hormones failing.

The low dose E got rid of them & I have not been able to see any signs of more development. Dose is .0375 micrograms qd.
42C you should enjoy the flax fiber as I opine it will have no discernible effect but the BPH meds will.

Regards, Bob

Interesting. I'm not on any meds. But vitamin supplements.
I will have my first Endo appointment at the end of this month. Interesting to see how all this is going to play out?

It is understood that during adolescence our bodies are making a decision of whether we'll be boys or girls. Doctors tell mothers of boys with burgeoning breasts that they'll eventually disappear.  Many of the men here know that isn't true.  I was one of those boys who didn't develop breasts as a teenager, but I did have a soft body.  That never changed.  But nature had its way with me as i got older.  Testosterone did diminish and estrogen gave me the breasts that on one level I really wanted.  That is the nature of gender confusion which is rooted in early childhood experiences.  Yes, as 50/50 notes, gaining weight during COVID probably had something to do with it... as did alcohol use.  But that is all water over the dam.  I do have breasts and while I'm not interested in having larger breasts, I do appreciate what I have.  And it gives me pleasure to put on a brassiere and appreciate the fullness of my bosom.  This isn't exactly the life I envisioned for myself but who am I to battle with Mother Nature? That I don't fit the model of what a man should look like no longer matters to me.  This is my life... these are my breasts and so the story goes.

42C, I'm feeling the same way you are.
Enjoying where I'm at yet accepting what comes.  I do like having a nice bra, filling it and take comfort with it doing it's job. I don't try to show off but do try and stay discrete.

As far as the flax seed having an effect on us appears true.  I have looked at what foods and herbs might make our E levels increase
and that is one. The list is long.  I looked in my spice cupboard and panty and found many of them.  Including Flax Seed, ground Fenugreek  spice and Soy.  I use a lot of soy.

Does it contribute to our condition?  Possibly.  I have to believe there has to be more going on with us.  Low T for one.

I have studied this from when it started with me.   The way I learned from folks who did go MTF stated that the herbal was like eating bread crumbs where the HRT was a steak dinner.  Yes it does have an affect but for it to be substantial you would have to seriously OD on it.  Talking real dangerous levels.   Where the concentrate clinical HRT is a powerhouse.

But I also think the genetics have a huge part of it, given that the only aspect of anything clinical I am involved with is spironolactone at 50mg, for HBP, and that was started in Feb. of 2025. My girls started in late 2018 and noticeable in 2019.

I would actually love to explore getting the Est. on my side and let them get bigger, but that may be a dream.

I think this support site is moving over to how to make Boobs bigger there seems to be less help with acceptance.

I'm not sure I agree with you.  The journey of understanding can lead us down many paths.  I ran into a few of the men here on an earlier website devoted to men wearing brassieres.  I was wondering whether I was the only person dealing with breast development.  I hadn't found this website and was simply exploring the world we all know about.  I wasn't seeking large breasts even though I found men who wanted exactly that.  I also explored gender transitioning and crossdressing.  I finally landed here and was delighted to meet men coming to terms with this reality.  Accepting that we have breasts can be a huge leap for men and we've witnessed the struggle on these threads.  A few years ago there was quite a bit of push back against acceptance, especially when that acceptance moved toward appreciation.  I guess since we HAVE breasts, such things as finding flattering brassieres and women's clothes that fit our rounding bodies, being comfortable with having larger breasts is not too much of a leap.  I've pretty much reached the limit since my breasts are large enough now that they will be noticeable even if I'm not wearing a brassiere.  I almost always wear one at home but never wear one when I'm engaged socially... though I have one gay friend who knows about this journey and I always wear a brassiere when we get together.  I really don't want larger breasts even though I appreciate the breasts I have.  My guess is other men here have gone through a similar process... learning, accepting and even admiring.  Wherever this leads, it must begin with acceptance.  We each have our own journey with all of this.

Very well said 42C!

I fee the same way.  To bobb's point, I have said I accept where I am and where I might be heading. I have spent some time trying to figure out the why.  Which I feel was 42C's point.  Some have said they wish they would grow/fill out a bit more.  I have stated I just want them to be the best shape possible not  allowing myself to just look like an over weight fat old man.

I have changed identity here three times for personal reasons.  In my collective 1500 post I have always stated and stressed acceptance of self and others.  I have learned not to judge others or second guess their desires.  For me...Love, support, embrace and give advise when  asked.

My point bobb, we are all different.  Here for guidance and support.  If someone wants a nose ring go for it.  Not my jam but I love diversity.  Answer questions and engage in discussions that are relevant to you and where you can help others.  Bobb, I'm not trying to call you out because there was a time I felt the same way by comments.  I have had to look at it differently.  I'm here, on this space because it's not like some where men are seeking MTF. I'm not there, sure as ever wish them the best but its not my path.

Catching up, been at the Endocrinologist for a few hrs & getting new scans set up with more blood work. Busy day.

42C, here, here!
Bobb , stick around , lots to learn from all of our different perspectives.

50/50, don’t worry about getting this syndrome, it’s not contagious, if a constellation of symptoms appears, possibly all looking unrelated an astute doctor might spot it & order a series of genetic tests. That’s how it’s diagnosed & it makes you a unicorn.

I have been consuming milled flaxseed on a daily basis for some years now. I started to combat the progression of Prostate cancer which is now fortunately in remission.  My D cup boobs are possibly one side effect but if it leads to a longer life then it is a price worth paying.

Sorry to hear about your journey with cancer.  The biopsy done on my prostrate some years ago was negative though an enlarged prostate continues to have its way with me.  I imagine you've been taking some drugs that diminish testosterone and may have a bearing on your breast development as well.  I know for myself that milled flax seed is part of my health regimen and has nothing to do with a wish to have larger breasts.  Yet, I do have large breasts and if I wore a smaller band in a brassiere they would be called D or double D.  At 44 inches they are called B and at 42 inches they are called C.  Regardless, they are real breasts... more than a handful which was once described as the way to determine if your honey had C sized breasts.  If I were wearing a 34 inch band these breasts would be seen as HUGE.

Yes, long life is what this journey is all about.  That we have developed breasts along the way is irrelevant.  We can ignore them or enjoy them.  We should take care of them... but they really are beside the point.  Personally, I'm rather thrilled by them but then I have reasons for that which I won't describe again.  Childhood trauma is played out through life in many ways... and I have one in which wearing brassieres and enjoying breasts is primary.  Simply take care of yourself AND your breasts... however makes sense to you.

  • When life gives you curves, Flaunt them! 🤗
My journey with Hot flushes and night sweats brought me to flax seed after my doctor refused BC pills to soften the blow. I have been on Flaxseed, Red Rashi Mushrooms, and soy products for several years now. I have not seen a noticeable difference in breast size either. I already had breasts.
Hot flushes used to be twice daily at 10 and 2 am every day, now I get one about once a month randomly.

Even if the mixture caused more breast tissue growth, who cares. As long as the Hot Flushes are under control.
When life gives you curves,
flaunt them! 💃

Agree on that ! The hot flashes were feeling lethal. Finally got them under control with an estrogen patch.

Got the first of my recent labs back today , happy with the new Endo, she is thorough. All seems ok, as it should be. Except for the T level is less than 7. & normal at this lab is 249-916. E is in the normal range with the patch.
The pituitary tumor is at bay with the meds. The slight elevation in 2 liver enzymes is related to the meds.
With these values that have existed from May to now there has been no breast augmentation. Holding at 44 under bust and 51 bust.

Yeah, stability! Let’s hope the ordered DEXA scan shows no further loss.
