The Whole Procedure?

Can anyone tell me step-by-step what the whole process was starting with finding a surgeon to post-op appointments?  The reason I ask is because I am going to have to travel 4 hours to my surgeons office (Unless I can find someone closer) and I am curious as to how many times I will have to make the trip.

Trip 1: consult

Trip 2: (not always to surgeon) blood test

There can also be a trip in here to make payment less u do mail order or something bank draft etc

Trip 3: Surjury trip to hospital/clinic

trip 4: (usually few days after) post-op checkup

trip 5: sometimes a month or two after checkup

What are the blood tests for and what do they check for?

just a regular white/red count etc for any surjury

required in Canada or by my surgeon anyways......
