It's about Poland, so I didn't know if i should start a new  thread or continue with this one.

I PM'd the below to Mark but I'll post here too. I'm looking to Europe for surgery, can afford £1k comfortably but not te £3.5+ for the UK. Located in B'ham and being pretty central, I can go to any European clinic, but good feedback will sway me, such as Mark's.

'Hi Mark and Congrats on your work.

I did write biefly to u in Nov in one of the posts, when made your mind up for Poland.
I understand that the whole experience was frst class and not a 'scam'. The final result will be evident after some time.

I too am ready to have surgery done abroad also now, and wanted to check which European Clnics you 'painstakingly' researched.

Apart from Poland, was it Czech Republic and Hungary?
Would you be kind enough to pass webiste details for these and any other opinion that you may have.
I think Czech would be mnore suitable from me.

looking forward to hearing from you mate.
Thanks
Ace  '

Gutted!!!!! just wrote a massive reply and my pc crashed.......sh*t!

Hello Ace,
Sorry for the delay in replying but i have been overloaded with uni work.

Yer, i researched loads of clinics in Hungary,Poland,Czech Republic & Romanina.....lol.I chose the one i did because of the service, cost and travel . My first choice was to difficult to reach , though now you can travel there with ryan air from east midlands.
My first choice was a clinin in wroclaw and the Surgeon sent some amazing post op pictures....i was very impressed.
Why would you prefer the Czech republic? to make a bit of a holiday? It's just that the clinincs in Prague are expensive due to our friends they Americans...lol. and the ones that are cheap are off the beaten track are difficult to reach as cheap airlines only fly to Prague and Bruno.....you could always get the surgery in poland or Hungary and then catch the train into the Czech republic for a nice break :) .

The last web page is for Hungary and has some pretty good results....My first choice is the second one in the list.....I have more....it's just hard finding them again as i deleted them from my favourites......but if you def want the czech republic i will find some for you.....
I will be going to Prague in easter and i will also be there for the full summer, so if you need help and you are in poland i would be happy to help you find your chosen clinic as i used to live in the czech republic.

speak to you soon....

Mark

Hope this helps

Where did you visit? I will be staying there for another three months this summer.Ican't wait :) .

Get a flight to poland , then a train after the procedure to Prague and the you can fly back to the U.K. from there...:) .

Well i've contacted Andreas and will be sent the info packs this week for Poland.

The only thing is that the flight to Berlin is from Stansted London and I'm in Birmingham , which is not a problem going out. But returning back will that be too much effort/pain to drive 120 miles, 48 hours after an op ???

How was your driving exprience back Mark /others?

Hey, you can fly from east midlands to berlin schoenfield with ryan air ( www.ryanair.com) . If you book the tickets 8 wks in advance you can purchase them for about £5 . The distance from birmingham to east midlands airport is only 44 miles .
Good luck with the op :) .

What happens if all does not go well?

What legal remedy do you have under Polish law?

What happens if you develop a haematoma etc, I mean would they just kick you out the hospital or what and how would you deal with the matter in terms of staying in the country?

I am not saying this to be a git, I am raising worst case scenarios just so you can do your homework and cover yourself.

The clinic wuld prefer you to stay with them for 5-7 days or in poland. But i wanted to go after three night in poland.
For the Heamatoma you are given injections and tablets each day to prevent any such problems, i was even given a small injection to take home with me .
Poland is part of the EU, so i am guessing we will have the same rights.
If you need a revision it is done for the price of the accomodation and knock out juice :) .

That is impressive that the clinic want people to stay for that period of time, certainly a good sign.

As for the possibility of haematomas, frag injections help to try and prevent them by thining the blood but they do not stop haematoms from occuring in all patients.

But my question was not really about haematomas so much as it was about what happens if you have complications that require further medical treatment and or a prolonged stay abroad.

What I would say is do NOT guess that Poland has the same legal rights and remedies as the UK merely because they are in the EU- because that will NOT be the case.

Assumption if you are the one who ends up unlucky and have complications can be the mother of all F ups.

But like I say I am not saying this as some aside to knock going to this clinic and having surgery there, for all I know it might be brilliant.

I'm only saying what I am because it pays to do your homework so that all scenarios are covered especially when having something like this done in a foreign country.

Guys looking to do this should get the low down on what hapens in worst case scenarios and not assume it will be all peaches and cream....I mean it isn't like always peaches and cream in the UK so why should it be abroad?

P.S

Free revision, the duration of the stay and the fact that they are giving patients frag injections all sounds good though.  In fact nothing you have said sounds bad

I hope they don't use the term knockout juice though  :o Haha- just joking :D

hi, just come back from poland surgery 2 days ago. The clinic itself was very good, better than what you would get here even. I felt the consaltasion was a bit rushed and although they told me there would be a translator presesent there wasn't anyone who could speak fluent or even very good english.

I felt I needed the glands taken out, but there were 3 surgeons all telling me I only needed lipo so I went with their advise which I think was a bit of a misstake. At the moment I look about the same as when I went in (5 days ago) and can still feel the gland.

Anyway all in all it only came to about £1k. markashleigh1979 mate how long did it take you to see a difference? was there much of one? I've got the feeling there won't be much change.

Hi,
You should have pressed for the excission.......but then again i haven't seen your before pics :) .
I found the Female Docs English to be good , though i think she had problems with my geordie accent...lol.

I noticed a differrence after two- three weeks.....remember your chest is really swollen and you should notice the final result at about three months.

Don't let this scare you : I am going back for revision surgery in 6 wks ( Just need to pay for the flight and
hospital stay ) . I am happy with the reults from the lipo and my chest is a lot smaller and i now wear t-shirts.....though my chest is pointy due to the gland which i now want removed.....

Don't spend  too long worrying.........you will know for sure in a few weeks, just relax :) ......it will be swelling and scar tissue. My chest looks great......i am just a vain bugger who wants an ironing board chest......lol

How did you find the food and your stay?

i am still noticing a diff every day.....at this rate i might not need to go back...i am 2.5 months post op.............
