oh thank you soooooo much my mind is truly at rest now :)
im going alone with the money.
what is the best way to keep my moiney safe?
as id hate to get robbed whilst under anesthetic or get robbed at anytime really :)

I don't know about out and about on the street on Poland, but I personally felt safe and a had a couple of hundred euros and my passport on me but that's upto you how you secure yourself; but at the clinic you should have no worrries about theft, it is a professional outfit

I had camera, mp3 player, phone and laptop lying around. The only loss i would ever be concerned with would have been my passport !.

Best thing you can do for greater assurance, is to get a padlock with a number combination ( not a flimsy one with 3 no.s but a sturdy one with 4 numbers, these will be approx a fiver or less) and stick that on your bag, when u go under. As there is no key, no one can get in. Also if you do venture out and about, lock your room, there should be a key in the door, if not ask for it.

Fajast definitely some improvement there; Ghostrider very good results, looking flat.

As far as i'm concerned now, some 6months on (op was end Mar'06), the 1300 pounds (all inclusive travel and surgery) that I spent was the best money I spent for my peace of mind.

It really has transformed from what I wear to how I carry myself and the confidence. I'll post some pix this weekend to show 6 months on

Ok gang,

Original pre gyne and 1 month on (4 weeks) pix here:

six month pictures now posted here :

I can't believe I am rid of those puffy nipples. This time last year, I had no idea that the technical name was gyne', that I could do something about it, or afford it. Having stumbled on this site from a mention on a Hair loss site, has transformed my out look and ME!!

Broken down cost over the year £1300/52 is £25 per week. Saving money by having 1 less coffee per week, one less drink and hiring one less DVD knocks off a fiver each time and takes it down to £10 a week that you are forking out !

Anyway I don't really need to convince anyone, i'm chuffed and over the moon

thx

Hi all you guys.  First of I want to thank you for writing so much information and sharing your experiences from begining till end in regards to surgery in Poland.

I had to read through 36 pages to get update.  But it was all worth it.  Very informative.  Based on what I read, I am also considering surgery there.  I have already written to Andreas and hope for a reply shortly.

I wanted to ask you some questions (for those of you duded who have gotten the surgery already).  And I'm sorry if I missed readung about this because there was a lot of text.  But they are genreal questions about the trip.

1) If your flight reaches in the afternoon, should you check in to the hotel and have surgery the next day? Or is it possible (and better) to have the surgery on the same day in the afternoon.

2) The hotel sounds quite cheap (in terms of rate/price).  Is it a bad hotel.  How is the bathroom, is the shower powerful? I ask this because after the surgery I'm assuming I'll want a nice long shower to get clean. Does it have a tv and dvd player?

3) Several of you guys said to cross the bridge to go to Frankfurt.  Is it easy to go back and forth or do i need a passport and go through check points every time?

4) After the surgery, how long do you sleep for?  Does the doctor put you out

5) How is the bathroom in the clinic?  DOes it have a shower there?

Guys if I think of any other questions, will ask.  In the mean time, would really be grateful if you could answer the above.

Also, could you guys put comments about your experience.  By this I mean, if you had to do it all over again, what would you change? These could be small things but possibly make the experience a little better or more convenient for the rest of us potential patients.

Thank you very much.  Looking forward to your in put and feed back.

Samgyne,  to answer some of ur points :

1) I believe they scedule about 3 /4 Ops a day, with a 2 /3 hour slot (to include clean up).

Hence if you come in the aftenoon may miss or not align yourself with scheduled slot. also i've always found budget airways to always arrive late. So best get there, relax and prepare for the morning

2) "The hotel sounds quite cheap (in terms of rate/price).  Is it a bad hotel.  How is the bathroom, is the shower powerful? I ask this because after the surgery I'm assuming I'll want a nice long shower to get clean. Does it have a tv and dvd player?"

??? After the surgery, you will be staying at the Clinic, not the hotel.

The hotel I stayed in, in Town (Klassiki 0 Green front) was a clean spacious one similar to a 70-90 pound UK hotel, with tv and good shower). I think, u've go a negative view from the media etc and ur thinking Eastern Europe and peasants clutching potatoes. But Hey, even If I had to stay in a shed, sleep on a dead scabby horse and drink ditch water, i'd do it, it's only for two days - then you'd be home !

3) U have to go through a check point and show your passport - will take them 30 seconds to look at your passport pic and then your face. Nothing complicated in that.

4) u sleep until ur anaesthetic wears off - and can then sleep all day every day. I welcomed that opportunity, having run around 24/7 here.

5) You will be surprised at te clinic, very modern, very clean and again Bloody HEll , yes they do have Showers in Poland.

from ur 2nd mail

1) You have to pay cash and in Euros - You will not require any Polish Currency at all during your trip - as local shops will also take euros in Poland.

2) U may have some numbness or some stinging around the nipples but it depens on the individual, but yes post op after a few hours rest, u can be up and about, walking around.

You may have swollen or redness.
No one at the airport is going to ask you to take your t-shirt off unless it's made of metal or chainmail.

3) till you find a partner

Hey guys some more questions-

1) Can you pay with a credit card or must it be cash?

2) Realistically speaking, On the second day (day after surgery) are you able to walk around or are in pain?  Like go sight seeing and stuff? Afer 2 days, does the dr take of bandages and put on vest? Is your chest all swollen and messy? I mean if I have to take of my t shirt (like at the airport checking) or something wil it look gross?

3) How long do you have to wait till you can start having sex again?

Thank you.

Hey Ace - Seriously thank you very much for your reply post.  Thanks man.

I read the thread you gave link for.  It answered many of my questions.

Regarding the hotel - noted which one you stayed at.  But my budget is a little less.  So I was thinking about the cheaper one.  I think some people mentioned they stayed there for 28 Euros a night. Is that walking distance to the clinic?

If someone who reads it has stayed there - how is the hotel.  Is there a safe to keep your money (i don't want to fly all the way to poland and have my money stolen the night before surgery lol)

Does anyone know what 5ft 8inches = how many meter/centimeters?

On the last point Ace - I have current partner who wontt be with me there.  But I'd see her 3 days after op.  I'm worried about stitches and bruising etc.. So do you think it would be possible to have sex 3 days after surgery? I would imagine that too early.

Thank you all. Everyone pls feel free to give input / comments.

Samegyne,
Ur not reading properly

I said

'The hotel I stayed in, in Town (Klassiki 0 Green front) was a clean spacious one similar to a 70-90 pound UK hotel, with tv and good shower'

This is the Polish Hotel that cost 28 -30 Euros ..... and i am comparing that a similar one in the UK would be approx 70 pounds.

See how things make sense when you read them properly.

AS for the sex thing - ask the Dr if in doubt.
But the stitches an bruising will be in ur chest, not in ur groin, there's 1000 variations that don't imvolve ur chest muscles/area.

Guys, I'm sorry but I forgot to ask the MOST important question for me : Is it better to get general or local anesthesia.  I read in here somewhere that one of you ( I think Mark) used local.
Can some one please tell me which is safer and whats the difference (in terms of price).

Would be great to also hear from someone whi used local.

Thanks.  Much appreciated.

Oh and one more question.  Since Andreas hasn't replied, how long does it take to get the surgery date.  A couple weeks or months?  I ask this because I am in the progress of saving money and also need to take time off from work.  So mus tplan accordingly.

Thank you again all.
