  • I'm gonna do it!
I contacted my insurance provider and they said that they do cover Gyno surgery if I have the Doctor send them a "letter of medical necessity"
Any idea of what that necessity would be?

My guess is that they will also cover the cost of a Psychologist for the treatment of depression.

Many of us that have Gynecomastia suffer from depression, lack of self worth, social isolation, & etc. See a Psychologist and make the strongest case you can for needing surgery to help you fit into society.

Using surgery as a treatment for a Psychological issue may sound odd to you, but it may be your best bet to get the insurance company to cover the cost of your surgery.

Good Luck!

I'd think it would be medically necessary if it caused you physical pain.

Do you have any pain in or around your chest?
