nice thread... I am 8 months post op, gland excision... i have puffy areola too.. i guess this is normal, i will be giving my self 2 years... if it will still not be ok, i will go to my surgeon again. :)

right now i am doing a lot of push-ups, incline and decline to target my upper and lower pecs.

Hi sadgyneguy, I have had to go back to have to more revisions that cost money, but i put on some pounds as i was not happy with the results. The are still to big and I got down, so i drank myself silly..It is a hard way to learn but I think it could of been done better....... Well this thread is a little unsettling. I am one week out from minor lipo on right pectoral and major lipo and excision on left pectoral. The right seems to look normal, though I can't say for sure since it still has tape on it, I guess I will replace them tomorrow and see what it looks like.  The left is still really swollen. I suffered from puffy nips too, but, my understanding is this is caused by the fat underneath the aereolas making it so the muscle cant sit smoothly against it. I assume after having glandular excision it is just then a matter of reducing your body fat. I am hopeful this is resolved once and for all, but threads like these make me nervous.

I will get back to you guys on how my stuff turned out, best of luck to everyone.

i had it done here in the philippines, gland excision (around $500), no lipo...

i agree with the other guys here that those who have drains have higher success rate...

removing fat CAN help flatten out the areolas. Most of the time though those with puffy areolas have gland issues.

I think many surgeons are extra cautious and leave some gland behind on purpose. I believe many are afraid to remove to much and cause a cratering effect. The cratering effect is very hard to repair. Where as a revision surgery is simple.

crow,
Have you considered getting another doc's opinion?  You say that you have some puffiness behind your areola.  That can only mean that it is fluid or tissue, one or the other.  I can't say whether it will go down or not, but your doc didn't use drains, so who is to say that it isn't fluid buildup which is sometimes common?  If it is tissue, then that is even worse.  I'd seek another opinion.

One of the docs posted a great write up on scar tissue. I think Grandpa put it as a STICKY

brahms,

Yes I have thought about a second opion......The PS says no tissue no fliud, also he said it was scar tissue that is doing this..........

asmallmeasureofpeace, I would like to know if this is true also that in time they will drian.....

Yes losing fat will help, but i think the puffiness is a harder OP than some of these surgeons think..Expectations and reality are the key to this.......Anyone had both glandular excision and then had aereola reduction?
