One of the characteristics of "true gyne" is that working out doesn't get rid of it.  Actually, building muscle behind the gland/fat tissue of gyne can actually make the condition more appear more prominent.  No doctor can tell you what your gland tissue to fat ratio is before they have you in surgery because the gland can be difficult to detect by tests in many cases.  You can search Dr. Bermant's posts on these boards and find a lot of information on this.

The bottom line:
If your PS is telling you he's going to do liposuction only then you need to see a different plastic surgeon.  I'm giving my opinion based on the countless posts of unhappy customers of surgeons who talked like yours before their surgeries.

Sorry to put this so strong but;

Your doctor is a complete moron and has little to no comprehension of gynecomastia.

First of all it is IMPOSSIBLE to tell the difference between fat and gland via ultrasound in male patients unless there is an ENORMOUS mass of dense glandular tissue (often male gynecomastia is less dense and diffuse and cannot be picked up on an ultrasound).

This is why all the top plastic surgeons do not rely or in fact use ultrasound as a diagnostic tool.

Your doctor may know what he is doing with women patients but I would suggest that is it.

Furthermore;

As has been previously stated pseudo gynecomastia tends to be weight related and it responds at least some degree to weight loss.

You have a low body fat percentage and yet you clearly have gynecomastia.

I guarantee that losing weight will have little to no impact whatsoever on that gynecomastia.  You have probably tired to loose weight in an attempt to rid yourself of the gynecomastia and seen this unfortunate truth for yourself.

It is likely that you have glandular gynecomastia

If you are considering surgery;

At the very least you would require glandular excision to ascertain what the exact situation is.

If you doubt what I say regarding the fact that ultrasound and xrays etc are useless then perhaps you will listen to what of the top US surgeons who posts on this very site.

Dr Bermant has said countless times that he cannot fully be sure whether gynecomastia is fat or gland until he has opened up the chest and cut tissue away and actually examined it in his hand.  He says this because gland is usually hard but can be soft and fat is usually soft but can be hard.

But post the question and ask him and get this information from the horses mouth.

Even thinking about pseudo gynecomastia, it is far more likely to occur in those with higher body fat levels and obesity- of which you have neither.

Fire this imbecile of a doctor and seek people’s recommendation here for a decent surgeon.

Best to ya.
