Lossing weight after surgery?

ok i am planing to have surgery after i find some good PS. but my main question is.. can a person loose some weight after surgery( 6month -1 yr period. )

i am 25yr - 5'5" - 172 LB

i want to be at 145-150 LB  so loose at least 20 - 30 lbs after my surgery. what is my weight should by at age of 26yr? comparing to my height.

so my q? is it going to help me. or i should not try to loose weight so fast.

i don't want to weight lift and stuff i just want to run or play or swim and loose some weight naturally.
