On March 3rd I had surgery with Dr. Bermant. I would type out the whole story of how it went and such but I pretty much had the same experience as "Tiredofit". You can ready his diary at: http://www.gynecomastia.org/smf/index.php/topic,8212.0.html

A few things i'd like to add:

-I have not had to take ANY paint medication.
-2 days post op(today) I drove 12 hours without a problem at all, the discomfort level is minimal and VERY bearable

I suggest that anyone who is looking for surgery go through Dr. Bermant for obvious reasons. He is highly praised on this forum for a reason. Bruising and swelling is also very minimal. I have seen post op pictures of surgeries with other Dr's and most of them look terrible as far as bruising and swelling goes...and as far as the overall results of the surgery goes.

If anyone is thinking about surgery but just needs that little motivation to get them over that hump and do it then PLEASE PM me. I traveled 12 hours each way ALONE and did all of this alone. My only regret is not doing this earlier.

Here is a link to my photo album that includes all pictures(Pre and post op) I will continue to update this album as healing progress's. Expect new pictures once dressing is removed(March 15th) and then a couple more updates after that. Also this pictures are a little scattered, I'm not sure how to organize them.

looks great...i take it you had a exsion and lypo? I just met with a doc here in tennessee that wants to do ultra sonic lypo only and says that if she needs to do excision she will.

Did you have a hard lump behind you nip?  I don't, she says that mine is a mixuter of gland and fat  called   ______. (i forget the name.)

i can have it done here in the next few weeks, I just don't want to have to start all over again with a new doc,,how long after you intial call did it take with beamont?

Wear did you stay, who checked on you.....
You must be really happy.....
thanks for any advice you can give me

I have heard that ulta sonic lypo is an old technique that is no longer used because of how ineffective it was. REMEMBER I am not a doctor and I am stating facts that I have heard so I cannot confirm or deny this. If anyone here can confirm it for me that would be great.

There was a lump behind them, which I think everyone with glandular gyno has...the lump is simpily the gland. Mine was also a mix of glandular and fat, which most cases on this forum are.

I dont remember the actual time frame but I had surgery less than 2 months after my initial talk over the telephone(remote consultation) with Dr. Bermant. His staff(more spicifically jane) did everything in her power to make sure that we could work on getting a mutual date that worked for both of us. I was very surprised at how fast I was able to get the surgery. Now remember If you are going to get it done, get it done RIGHT the first time. Dr. Bermant is the absolute most no bullshit professional ive ever seen.

I stayed at a hotel right down the street from his office. Checked in Fri, and checked out monday. The cost was 81 per night. However after driving around i realized that there are other hotels closer to his office that are probably cheaper than the one I stayed at!

As far as who checked on me....Well for $150 they provide you with a nurse that will drive you to your hotel and stay with you for 6 hours after the surgery(he also takes you back to get your car). I had no choice since I was alone and was kinda worried it was gonna be awkward but let me tell you, the guy was THE MAN. Request Michael Kendall as your nurse. He's not some weirdo at all. He's a really cool guy whos into sports and im sure if not for the fact that surgery was just performed he woulda went to the bar with me! HAHA. He was actually not needed for more than an hour, after an hour we went out to Subway and he told me usually him and the patient go out to the movies or other things so they dont just sit in the hotel. Like I have stated before...there was virtually no unbearable pain. I havent been very limited as to what I can and cant do(with the obvious exception of running, lifting weights and such).

If you have any other questions dont be afraid to ask! To sum up my post I def suggest you go through Dr. Bermant. Its better to get it done RIGHT the first time!

I think your results look great and once you remove the dressing you'll be able to see the full results plus you 're probably still a little swollen from the surgery.  I had surgery with Dr. Bermant on Jan 5 and i'm very pleased with my results.  I've had depressing moments since the surgery but they are few and far between.  I'm so happy I had this done....I wish I would have had it done 12 years ago. (I'm 31)   This is the first time I've posted but I will get my pictures posted soon.  I traveled from Colorado to have Dr Bermant do my surgery and I have absolutely no regrets.  He and Jane were awesome and extremley thorough.

Well my parents got something in the mail from my bank confirming the wire transfer to the Dr(I'm away at college). So hiding this surgery from them didnt last more than a week! My dad feels terrible that I spent so much of my own money and told me that he wants to pay me back for the surgery!! Man im lucky, what a great dad!

That is a great dad. My Dad once held some money for me that was left by my grandmother when she died, then when I asked for it he took the interest off, then right after that he asked for the whole lot back, which he didnt get.   >:(

Great pics.

You look great. Fantastic work. I wish i went to Dr. Bermant for this. I'm in NJ, and it would have only been a 5-6 hour drive for me. I'm thinking of taking legal action against my Dr. for not excising the gland and have him pay Dr. Bermant to fix things.

for tenncast:
Make sure you know how to check your chest for enlarged glands. You have to lift your arms up and then feel the nipple. My doctor only did lipo and the glands are still there. He said he didn't need to excise the gland manually because he was able to remove any excess gland with lipo, but that's a bunch crap.

Trust me and everyone else here, you want it done right the first time.
