Scar tissue question

I am currently one month post op and its time to start massaging. My entire nipple feels hard like scar tissue, not just where the incision was made. Is this normal?

When massaging do I massage the entire nipple or just the area where the incision was made?

Is it normal that massaging will cause a little pain for the rest of the day in the nipple area? Not an unbearable amount of pain but some discomfort?

yea i massaged the insicion and wherever i felt scar tissue under the skin.  And I do feel sore after i massage
