Day 39

wow, cant believe i'm already more than a month post op. the healing and everything has been great. i started the workout program P90X last weekend. let me tell ya, that baby is no joke. since i'm impatient, i decided to jump right into it once i hit a month post surgery. the only pain i felt the first week was when i ran in place and did jumping jacks. nothing major, just a stinging sensation. oh, and i havent experienced any swelling due to working out. everything is just going great. i'm super excited about getting rid of my gut and transforming the rest of my body in the coming months.

some updated pics below...

Hey Death to Man Boobs,  thanks for posting your experience and results in detail.  Your story finally pushed me to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jacobs for September.  I'm mostly surprised at how much your skin contracted immediately after surgery.  Its been three months, any updates on pain, sensation, swelling? Thanks!

Day 100

sorry for my absence the past couple of months. i have been enjoying my first titless summer! it has been freaking great to be able to go out wearing t-shirts and not worry about my gyne sticking out. it has been YEARS since i've been able to do that.

nothing new to report in terms of pain, tingling, itching or anything. i havent experienced any of it. the one thing i have noticed is that sometimes when sitting at my desk a certain way for a prolonged period, my left pec feels a little numb. no big deal though.

also, i'm 70 days into my P90X journey. so far, i've lost 6-7 lbs but more in terms of overall body fat. i plan on following this program until my gut is gone (lost 3 inches on it so far). here are some pics below...

Right now I’m 6 months post surgery (cannot believe how fast time passes these days). I feel great and, well, my chest looks great. Like I’ve written before, I have absolutely no complaints about my results, which have been far greater than I could have ever imagined.

A little more than a month ago I saw Dr. Jacobs for my 5 month check in. Here are the updated pics...

I won’t be posting here anymore. I think I’ll probably just drop by every few months and add some updated pics. Hopefully I continue to drop weight with P90X and my results help motivate someone to get the surgery done.

Thanks to everyone who has posted on this great forum. If not for your thoughts and experiences I would have never had the courage to tell my parents and finally have the surgery. For anyone thinking about getting this surgery done, the one piece of advice I can give is simply to DO IT!!!!!!

Before I chose Dr. Jacobs for the surgery I met with a few other surgeons.  Even if you have another surgeon in mind for this procedure, I highly recommend coughing up the $150 and scheduling a consultation with Dr. Jacobs. He easily provided the most in depth consultation and was the most sensitive about the condition.  One surgeon I met with had an attractive female assistant around my age take a picture of me with my shirt off.  I was mortified and furious by the lack of sensitivity.  Dr. Jacobs takes all the pictures himself. That right there is an example of how sensitive he is to men dealing with gyne.  To be completely honest, I actually had another surgeon in mind for the procedure before meeting with Dr. Jacobs.  However, I felt so comfortable with him after the consultation that I canceled the remaining appointments I had with other surgeons.

This surgery is no joke. It’s something that will impact you the rest of your life. There are many great surgeons out there and a few of them even frequent this forum. I am lucky enough to live 15 minutes outside of Manhattan, so choosing Dr. Jacobs was an easy decision in terms of convenience.  Do not, and I mean DO NOT, make your decision based on price. This is your body. This is the rest of your frickin life. You can't put a price on that. I know everyone may not be able to afford this surgery right away, but FIND A WAY. There is no price on what this surgery will give you. I went to the beach for the first time in years just a few weeks ago. I avoided beaches like the plague because of my gyne. I’m dating more women now. I’m having more sex (shirt off!). I was always afraid of how women would react to my gyne. Heck, I’m comfortable just wearing t-shirts! I haven’t been comfortable in t-shirts since elementary school.  I’m more comfortable wearing seatbelts in cars! Haha. I’m more confident. I’m able to wear clothes I never would have even considered buying before. Never again will I have to fight an unfriendly breeze of wind that showed the boobs I constantly tried to hide. Never again will I have to catch someone staring at my chest. Never again will I have girls playfully grab my boobs and giggle at me. Never again will I have to be ashamed of my physical appearance. Never again will I have to look at the mirror and agonize over what I see. Never again will I have to wear baggy clothes to hide my boobs...I could go on and on all day, but you get the idea..I’m just plain happy as heck.

Years before I even heard of the term "gynecomastia" I tried everything to lose my boobs. I thought I was just overweight so I used a million different fat burners. I lifted weights, which just made my gyne even worse. I used the Chest Coach System hoping to find a miracle. I used Gnexin, the fat burner that claims to target chest fat. I added turmeric supplements to my diet. EVERYTHING. None of these things worked and were just a waste of money. Thank god for Google or I never would have learned about this condition and that surgery is the only option.

GET THIS SURGERY DONE. DO IT. If you’re still worried about your budget, then tell your parents (you should tell them anyway).  During my teen years my parents thought I was on drugs because I was always seemingly depressed about something.  They were really happy when I finally told them what had been bothering me for all those years, so much so that they insisted on paying for the surgery. I know everyone has different financial situations, but find a way to get the surgery done. Take out a loan and finance it (my original plan), max out a credit card or two, beg on the streets, or get another job and start saving right away. I cannot say enough how much your life will change shortly thereafter. No one should be uncomfortable in their own skin. Life is too short. Don't wait.

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Jacobs perform the surgery on me.  As he put it when he called me at home a few hours after the surgery “that was no picnic..your body went through a very serious trauma”. The first 48 hrs was the most difficult. After that, it pretty much wasn’t a big deal. Even wearing the compression garments in the summer wasn’t as bad as I originally feared. The hardest part was just concealing the garments when around friends, but that is nothing compared to hiding man boobs your whole life.  Bottom line, my surgery was on a Thursday and I missed only two days of work. So, missing two days of work and wearing a compression garment for four weeks was what I had to deal with. Four weeks out of the rest of my life. That’s it. It seems like a blink of an eye in hindsight.

If you want my very biased opinion on which doctor to choose, then I will unabashedly say Dr. Jacobs. Take a look at my pics again and again AND AGAIN. The results speak for themselves. Six months ago I had breasts bigger than most women and today my chest is flat as a board and looks better and better with each passing week.  My only complaint about Dr. Jacobs is that he doesn’t advertise enough. I wish I found him when I was in high school instead of when I was 26! I guess that’s not really his fault. Gynecomastia is a term that every male should know about by the time he hits puberty.

Anyways, thanks for reading about my experience. If you have any questions about my anything feel free to drop me an email or a private message. I may not get back to you right away, but I promise to respond within a few days.   If you’re still on the fence about telling someone about your gyne or scheduling the surgery, then I hope I pushed you over the edge. The titless side of the fence is a million times better let me tell ya.

Seriously, get the surgery done. NOW!

i cant remember exactly what it was, but i think he said a month. however, even after a month passed i didnt start sleeping on my stomach right away because it was uncomfortable. i think it was like 2 months when i started doing it again.

To anyone reading the story from ''Death to Man Boobs'' Everything he said referring to Dr Jacobs is TRUE, I felt as if he was telling my story and experience from the every start, My surgery was on Jan 6, 2011 today is the sixth day I feel great, I researched gyno many years and my only chose was Dr Jacobs I wish I decided to do this years ago I felt the same pain as ''DtMB'' did and many more others facing this. I hide  Gyno from everyone I one day asked my wife to sit down by the PC (this site) and read some of the stories of other people and then I said this i what I have and this is what I want to do. The other people now that know is my 2 friends and their wife's 1 friend had gyno done in the 80's this is way he knows the 2nd is my best friend and he just told me that this past summer he kind of noticed it, they've all gave me great support and the day of the operation my one friend drove me and my wife there. Today I feel great and one day I'll post some pictures, One more thing Thank you Dr Jacobs for everything plus the Chicken soup that arrived just in time for dinner, The money, find it..any questions feel free to write me.

I went with Dr. Jacobs for my surgery 2 years ago and agree with everything positive said about him. I'm completly happy with my results still and it was the best investment I ever made. My only regret was not doing it sooner.

Dude if u ever check this thread again i have to say day 6 looked nothing like few months later, this give me hope about my surgery as well my day 6 looked somewhat similar to yours, close to 3 week now and its starting to look better and i feel bit better now seeing the results.. Gyne surgery i suppose takes months/years to give you the results one desires.

Congrats and i hope you are enjoying your new life.

it varies from case to case. my procedure was more than average because i had a severe case and had some lipo done around the sides of my chest. to answer your question though, dr jacobs costs more than other surgeons. there is a reason for that. he is one of the best in the world at this procedure.  like i said in earlier posts, don't let money be the determining factor. think about the potential risks of picking a surgeon based on price. what if you get someone inexperienced or just plain old inferior? he might screw your body up and you may need to have someone like dr jacobs fix the mistakes. the risk/reward is just not worth it in my opinion.

look at my pictures, bud. at the very least you should schedule a meeting with dr jacobs. i promise you won't regret it.

i'm about 10 months post op and my chest looks great. even the small incisions that dr jacobs made on my sides are barely visible now. i'm at the point now that it is hard for me to believe that i had boobs at this point last year. it just seems like a bad dream.

congrats on having the surgery. by the time summer comes around you'll look like a million bucks.
